    11/22/2009

Today I cut out some of the bad rust spots.

Cut out the bad section on the fender.

Then went to work on the rockers.

Hopefully I can get some of these parts welded back on later this week.

I promise this is the last gauge cluster update.

    11/19/2009

So pulled out the cluster that I am going to used in the car, and took it apart to clean it. A coat of primer on the rings that hold the glass in.

While those were drying cleaned up the gauges.

Then a coat of semi glass on the rings.

All back together, and very very clean.

And finally with the bezel I made.

Check out those super low original miles.

    11/18/2009 part II

    Test fitted.

The drilled out the holes for the brake light and trip reset. After having it get caught on the bit last night and about 30 minutes of fixing the bends in it I made sure it wasnt going anywhere.

Then some more sanding and fitting and sanding and fitting and well you get the point.

Now I just need to decide how to finish it. Im thinking something like this.

So transferred the pattern over to aluminum. Cut it out and sanded down the edges a bit, then started on cutting out the gauges. Drilled a few holes so I could get the snips in.

The got out the nippers to clean it up a bit.

All three cut out, cleaned up, and sanded almost to where I need them.

Then drilled out the holes for trip reset and brake light, and cleaned them up with the nippers.

Still need to do some sanding to get it to fit how I want, then on to working on the finish of the plate.

You are more than welcome to fly out for the weekend and do some welding........ That would make me feel alot better, haha.

    Boring semi update today.

    11/17/2009

A little bored today so I decided to try something. I have never been a fan of the wood grain around the cluster.

So I took apart an old broken one I have laying around.

    Starting the template.

    About halfway done.

Almost there need some more trimming.

I have never tried anything like this before and I know teasers suck. If I can make this work I will get some more pics up later.
