i know it isnt physically larger. Just the most efficient of that motor series (correct me if im wrong please).

Hopefully after the swap ill be pushing 240 HP, ill get a dyno run of my current set up, then a dyno run after the swap, then a last dyno run after i chip it.

Im still looking myself. This site has lots of that to offer.

If you look here you will find some great ideas. I actually added a Yugo to the list. Those things are dirt cheap on CL and you can find a few good looking ones here,... assuming its gunna be a daily driver project.

Might also wanna add a early to mid 70's Z car to that list. You can find plenty of those on CL and the good part is that most of the rusted body panels end up getting replaced for stylish aftermarket anyway. Or swapped between other model Z's and years.

^I looked for a yugo but didn't find any local or even any on ebaymotors at the time. I think dealing local would be a good way to keep cost to a minimum so it just depends what I find when I'm ready to pull the trigger. Good call on the older z's, lot's of potential for those! My problem is that of all the cars on my list, I keep going back to finding an e34 wagon even if it stretches the budget a little. I've just always loved those ever since I had an '89 525i with the m20 (sohc)

i think about shit like this all day long, but i have yet to save and go for it. its totally do able depending on available funds and what you're looking for. id love to go for an e30 or s13/s14 build. i have a problem with saving, simply because i like clothing way too much. im glad i clicked on this thread, i just got a jolt of motivation through my system lol.

That was the price of the wheels, not the car. And i believe the saying is "Built Not Bought."

                efficient, or powerful?

the "dirty euro" b34 with 10:1 compression makes a bit more power.

what else are you going to do to the b35 to get up to 240?

Datsun could work! I also looked at a few '89 Jettas. I think one of those could be built/stanced on a pretty low budget.

lol'z, Im hoping you guys see the sarcasm in my last post.

Anyway, where are you again? My Craigslist pulls up quite a few z's from time to time and 51o's and actually quite a few other makes. I dont know if there are any right now 1,000$ or less. I know there is a add for 2 for 900$. According to the add they dont run but either or has enough parts to make the other run.

If your anywhere near DE it may be worth it. Not like its a big state. There is a guy in Wilmington DE that does lots of work with Z cars and usually has some used as donor cars up pretty cheap.

a stanceworks budget build "competetion" would be entertaining.
like....1500 for car and all parts.

love the idea, I'd be down to do it next summer. That would give people a chance to save up the $1500. We would have to keep record of the major purchases to account for the $1500 budget.

boring out throttle body, already have intake set up, boring out intake manifold + few other things. If the numbers are correct, that should give me about 20 more horses to the back wheels.

again im not an auto pro by any means, im learning off what others are telling me. So if something seems wrong, its what i was told so please if you could correct that would be legit.

are there any internal engine parts i could swap out / upgrade? im ganna have this thing on a motor stand for at least a month cleaning and restoring it.

that pretty much sums it up. the scrapyard is your friend for cheap builds. just take measurements of your car and bring a tape measure to the yard. youde be suprised what fits off other cars.
