Just as the title states! I've been motivated by this forum to do a craigslist budget build. I don't have the extra money for it right now but curious if any of you have done just that!

Has anyone on here done a craigslist/ebay <$1k car build?

I've been looking at a few different options, all older models under $1k:
-any older bmw
-bmw e34 wagon (harder to find)
-volvo wagon
-subaru legacy wagon
-nissan maxima
I wouldn't mind doing an old corolla or 240sx but with the drift scene taking off, those are getting harder to find for <$1k unless they need too much work to make it worth itLast edited by randomquickness; 06-21-2010, 02:38 PM.

i picked up my 82 wagon for 300 bucks off craigslist. locally too.
so far ive spent under 600 bucks including purchase price. trying to find cool oldschool stuff on the 'list is hard tho. like 4x114.3 wheels for example lol.
budget builds are tons of fun tho, dont have to be super fussy about things like paintjobs or million dollar wheels.
