Can't wait to see how that heckblende turns out. What are you using to space out your fenders? I'll likely have to do the same to mine1992 Mercedes 190 E | 2002 DTM Inspired IS300 | IG @ DAAR_CREATIVE

Couple things from today.
Finally went and dropped the 190e off to get the ugly old tint removedand while thats at the shop I finished up working on the Cayenne. Valve cover gasket, spark plugs, coil pack, and oil change. Huge pain in the ass btw...
Once I finished with the cayenne I could finally turn my attention to the 911, which has been sitting on a flat tire due to a bent inner barrel. I've just been so busy with all the other cars I haven't had the time to do anything with it. There is a Porsche event this Saturday and I didn't want to miss it so I called Toyo and got some R888's for it.
Tomorrow I need to go get the bent wheel straightened out in Maryland, pick up the tires from Pennsylvania, take them to get mounted back in Virginia and then put the wheels back on the car for Saturday morning. I will be ready to die haha
Ignore my messy garage, Ive been to busy.

Great looking car. But, I have to ask, after reading this entire thread, was the car that you pulled the interior from the original avantgarde? It's not old enough to be here yet but it might've been worth grabbing for the historical value, 1 of 2500 and all.

So as most of you following know, I dropped the car off to get the tint removed. No biggie right... all I can say is WUT.
I go to pick the car up and what do ya know, the key won't turn. So I work at it for about in hour in the lot to no avail and I decide to go home and figure out what I need to do. After some research I come to the conclusion that my lock cylinder failed on me and I have three options one of which is hopeful.
1. work the key slowly and vibrate the pin into place.
2. tow the car to the dealer and pay them $800 to replace the lock.
3. take the ignition off my other 190e and put it on my car.
So knowing that the result may be in favor of the latter I take the ignition off the parts car and go to the lot. I start working on it, trying to get it loose using vice grips for leverage, graphite powder and a personal massager (thanks craigslist) Im about 30-45 min in and what do ya know! ... NOPE the key breaks off inside the lock
FUCKKKKKK
Now option 3 is the only option and what does that mean? Yeah pulling the dash...funnnnnn
So I pulled the dash, in a parking lot luckily my Jetta has a 12v outlet in it so I can run tools (which I needed)
In the process I had to pull the steering wheel and the horn button broke off of the other half and messed it all up so I had to fix that. more on that. Once everything is removed I can now use a cut off wheel and take the security cover off of the ignition and then proceed to remove and replace it with the other...and BOOM starts right up!
Drove it home with no dash and then put it all back together at home.
After all that I have some good notes...
Bought some OEM Euro Hella headlights
FINALLY sourced a set of the super rare Fifft all red tails (fucking unicorn lights) Ive looked for a long time so this makes me very happy. Should go super good with the whole theme and heckblende.
Heres the car without the tint since that was a reason this all happened. So much better
Heres the damage of the horn button and the out come of fixing it.
Its not perfect but it is a helluva lot better than it was and it was never perfect to begin with. Ill buy a new one from SpinFab soon.
Side note...
Got the R888's on the 911 and holy shit! These tire are unbelievable. the grip is nuts and the ride is something I have never experienced in my car. 10/10 would use these rubbers.

Damn, those ign.key issues suck. I know.
Just be glad it didn't happen while stuck in traffic. Because that's what happened to me; I tried to save some fuel, while stuck in a traffic jam on the highway, by turning of the engine. Once the traffic started moving again; that key issue happened. Took me a full seven minutes (in the middle of the highway) to get that freakin key turning again...Lucas
