So, back again for some more updates...
Since the car was finished, I obviously had to make it road worthy and get some tags.. Here'e the maiden voyage home from my shop
Apparently, it didn't like my driveway..
She got a little wet the first day I brought her home.. I wish the paint looked this good all the time.
We have a local car show here called the Syracuse Nationals and it's the biggest classic car show in the northeast. I tried to have the car ready for the show, but I ended up running into some issues and didn't end up bringing the car. Clogged fuel line, and over heating issues but hey, there's always next year.
While I was at the show, I ended up picking up some sweet historical plates for the car! Still waiting to hear back from the DMV so I can throw them on the car. They will look much better than the stupid orange and blue plates that we have here in NY I think..
Here's the ACTUAL first drive I did with the car on my way to work.. It was scary but damn, was it cool.
Aired out
Following that adventure, there was a local VW show that weekend that I attended. So obviously here's another photo of me driving this heap
Funny story, I actually ended up taking home first place in the modified class at the show! Maybe it's because I was the only modified beetle there, but hey.. WINNING IS WINNING!
In the meantime, I had the daily resprayed and it looks better than ever. I'll keep posting updates soon!
I'll post more soon!Bagged mk4 GLI

This thing is badass. Have you thought about widening the front wheels to match the rears? That dish is AMAZINGGGGG. Keep up the good work my friend! also, I'm curious to see what the ride height looks like when it's aired all the way up. Maybe post a pic for me?keep doing what you're doing, I love the direction this thread is headed

So, as I kept driving the car, some issues were arising, which I was expecting because of how long the car sat for.
So now, enjoy some photos of the car broken down while driving.. Because even broken down, it still looks so good..
So I ended up tracing down the problem to a clogged heat riser/intake which made sense as to why it was over heating and then a loss of power.. I sourced another intake from a local aircooled buddy of mine, and I got to tearing apart.. This was all two days before H2o.
Everything out, time for the new one to go in
Before and after paint
Three hours later it was all back together and back on the road!
So, a drive was in store for the ole girl.. TOTAL difference that intake made. The car had consistent power and didn't over heat.. I mean come on, that 40hp was screaming after that intake swap was done..
Getting ready to leave for h2o, and my buddy and I were doing some last minute prep on my cars to get them ready.. We're a bit opposite, but still homies haha
So we went to the store, grabbed a 30 rack, and got to fixing some issues with the compressor/air line setup.. The night before we were supposed to leave for h2o.. Last minute decisions ended up being good because I found out a couple lines were being pinched/frayed so I had to re-route them and clean some things up..
So I drove it to work the next day, and the exhaust tips fell off.. Called up my local aircooled connection again and he hooked it up with this stinger! It's off of a bus, but it tucks under the bumper pretty nicely.. Apparently, it spits flames under acceleration too.. (That's what people have said to me) So, we'll have to get some photos of that!
FINALLY got around to mounting my hubcaps... And let me just say, these made the car for me..
One last rip before loading it onto the trailer and heading down to OCMD for the week. I was terrified and definitely saw my life flash before my eyes..
In my travels, I found my offspring. Stay golden ponyboy.
Stay tuned for more updates!Bagged mk4 GLI
