hello, so this week i painted the bottom section of the car..not sure what its called?

    Before:

I used this bed lining paint for ute trays.

    Came out good imo

Should have used it in my boot but oh wells=(

Also got around to fitting the driver side mirror. Couldnt fit the passenger side as i dont have a bracket for it yet and would need to make one.

My dodgey way to measuring it out

    All done:

    Thanks..

So, if youve been following this thread, you'd remember i purchased some recaros in the past but they were too modern looking. Well i purchased the older style which is more period correct.

Turns out it has lumbar adjustment aswell! awesome will be fitting them once i get rails sorted out.

      ANDDDDD..

So if you look back to the older photos of my interior:

You'd see that it floor mat ontop of floor mat ontop of floor mat. The reason for this was cause the carpet was so torn and ratty that even the driver side one was pretty much non existent. I looked around for some replacements and had found a place that sold them for $295USD delivered to Sydney.

      This was the pre-cut set:

I thought about it and being the cheap person i am, i decided against it and went and bought 5M of black carpet from bunnings and decided to do it myself lol.

      Heres the results:

Laid them all out (it was pretty filthy lol) and traced them around. Lucky i had bought 5M as it was just enough.

      Out with the old...

      In with the new

      All done:

Just need to glue some of the pieces down around the edges so they dont lift up but overall im very happy with the results! Saved me alot of money

So i should really be doing uni work but instead i went and got around to fitting my passenger recaro seat in. Had to think of how to make it work but i got there in the end using the original seat rail.

That multi-coloured interior lol. But yeah, i'll probably get the rear seats retrimmed when i go overseas. I'll get it matched to the recaros

Driver side seat probably wont be in till next weekend during the long weekend.

So had some time today and decided to build a centre console to replace the original one. Plan was to have cup holders and an armrest.

it aint perfect but it'll be wrapped in vinyl to cover my dodgey cutting. Also it isnt finished just yet.

Still need to box it up and make a top for the arm rest.

I should have never started this lol, its actually pretty hard to make this centre console. But yeah i've finally made the compartment under the armrest and also the armrest flap part. You can probably see the wood is not straight and what not but i never really measured anything..just draw it and shaved down accordingly...hopefully it'll all be okay once its covered. Oh and I also picked up the black vinyl yesterday..

Inside the compartment, enough to store a few things..

Armrest top and you can see the piece i made that is above the handbrake lever..

            Side shot

Cd player and compartment slot back in

Top piece is yet to be hinged..i'll be putting some sort of padding and wrapping it in the vinyl

Well i didnt get to do as much as i hoped this week off uni due to the crazy ass weather but i did get most of the centre console wrapped.

I also made an armrest..i took apart my old E30 front seats and carved the foam to fit my arm rest part. Wrapped it in vinyl and heres the results. Like i said it aint 100% lol

I also fitted a magnet and hinges..(crappy photo)

Thats about it..still got to do the outer bits and cut out the holes but i should be able to finish that tomorrow.

So i finished the console off tonight..just need to figure out how to make the cup holders nicer..without having any exposed staples and stuff.

Pretty happy with the turnout even though its not the best looking..
