Not sure why my pics dont work for some. They show up on my phone and comp so im not sure how to fix them. But heres another little update, cut out my drivers side rear floor pan and made a patch for that. I also picked up an 8pt roll bar that as soon as the floors are finished up I can fit.

Sick man! I am just hitting 1000 miles on my 302 swaped RX7 FC. You can't beat the 302 for a easy swap! Sounds like you know what your getting into but if you need any help hit me up on insta @petrol360. Id love to see more of the build!

My roommate had an e21 and it was a sweet ride! I also picked up my RX7 from a guy that had built a turbo e21. So much love for these years of BMWs

That's awesome man. Did you use a mustang engine or adapt an explorer 5.0.

Spent some time in the garage today. Went out to work on the car, but ended up spending most of my time cleaning/organizing the garage. I did manage to get a little bit of work done though.

Floor looks good! I have a Frankenstein car! I have a explorer motor from a 97 mountaineer a rebuilt T5 from a 85 mustang and early mustang timing cover then made it all run on a carb. Looking to go EFI I have everything I need lust missing a plug to go into my 94-95 TM40 ECM.

Might start a build thread on here but here is my full build. (https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/fo...e/96558/page1/)

Also have some videos on it here, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyH...oSxkTmDoIbxmog

Might start drifting the car went to my first drift event this weekend and it was a blast!

I'm using an explorer engine too, was going to ask what you did about the fuel injection but you went carb. I bought the swap manual for an e30 and it claims I have to swap the entire explorer fuel injection for the mustang efi and I'm just not sure why.

So far I just have a 96 explorer engine,93 mustang harness/comp, and a 93-94 mustang t5. I am trying to use as much of the explorer engine parts as possible. I'll be getting a HO foxbody cam and new valve springs and then a distributor and I think I'd be good with that. I can't see any reason the explorer fuel rail and injectors won't work for my needs. I also need to make sure all of the sensors on the explorer engine will work with the mustang harness.

Most of it should work I am going to use a SN95 computer TM40, SN95 intake fuel rails. Coolant temp will work, oil pressure should work fine. The TPS may work read this (http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-foru...er-tps.862050/)

The explorer injectors will work and are said to be better then the mustang ones. They are 19#'s like the stock mustang. The Mass Air Sensor will work from the explorer will work to. Just make sure that your mass air matches your injectors. Its easy to upgrade injectors all you need to do is swap the mass air sensor at the same time. no tuning needed as far as I know.

As it sounds like you know you will need a new distributor as the explorer used coil pack's so you will need to pick up a coil as well easy with the aftermarket.

One thing I had issues with is the bell housing. The 94-95 (SN95) mustangs had a different trans input shaft and bell housing. Those T5's are a bit longer then all the other mustang T5's but **they will still fit even though they are wrong**!!! Make sure to measure the input shaft and bell housing and do a quick google to find the measurements. If you get them mixed up you will ruin the trans and crank shaft.

This is a good place to find info on the EFI parts. (http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/)

Also id look into just going ahead and getting a aftermarket cam unless the mustang cam is free. If you are going to have to buy the new valve springs might as well get a cam with a good grind that will fit your needs. But the explorer cam as week as it is builds TONs of TQ but runs flat by 4,300k. You should be using the A9L ECM that doesn't have as much self learning that everyone seems to **** so you can run a lumpy cam if you wanted to.

Awesome. Thanks for the information. I do have the proper bellhousing for the trans, but depending on where the shifter sits i may swap to a foxbody imput shaft and bellhousing, which I also have laying around.
