I don't know if it would be worth all the time. I think it only moves the trans back by 5/8-1" I have a custom sifter that moves it back about 6"

Or you can go real crazy and use a S10 rear housing and shifter to get it back a bit more. Tons of info out there for shifters on the T5. I wouldn't worry about it to much. I have heard that the shifter itself can make a real difference on how long a T5 will last. Stock shifters are good but I heard people say that a good aftermarket shifter will make it a bit stronger.

Was able to finish welding in the patch for the drivers side rear floor today. Im atarting to get the hang of welding sheet metal. Still not where I want to be, but 1000 times better than day one. Ive also decided im going to ditch the back seat , so I cut out the section that the bottom seat half sits on.

Thanks man. Progress is slow, but I'm happy with how things are coming out.

Same here. Right now i'm trying to get a new job so I can finally buy coilovers. Seems like it's the one part of the build that just does not want to happen.

Ive been toying around with the idea of making some door panel deletes. So today i made up a prototype, not sure how i feel. If i do go this route it will be paint matched to the car.

So far this has been the most challenging of the rust repair. I have redone it 3 times each time because I found out the rust was worse than I thought. This was the final time though, not the prettiest thing ever but it will do. Some brush on seam sealer and undercoating and it will look good as new.

Do anything you can to at least stop it from getting worse! I wish I would have done something sooner.
