THE PROJECT LIVES ON! SORT OF.

Have no clue how active people are on the forum anymore. The project had a long hiatus thanks to a lot of bullshit caused by a dishonest business owner and a lot of stolen shit from my Benz. So, it was back a bunch of steps and money saving/effort building until I was able to get the car going again.

Selling the copper and black chrome plated SSR's! And the car will be for sale very soon. Check my IG for detail. @daar_creative

Thank you sir! Very much appreciated. This is my favorite sort of photography, not just cars, but the detail in the build of a vehicle and the way I can tell a story through the images I capture.

Agreed! So much work put in to them to just have to dismount the tires, take off the weights, pull apart the sealant and put them in pieces again... just because my guy had one of his guys working for him do the work instead of doing it himself. Luckily the plating doesn't have to be re-done and he should be able to get away with just re-clear coating them but we'll see.

Thanks guys! I'm super pumped about the wheels as well. Unfortunately they will have to be pulled apart again this winter to have them re-clear coated. There are quite a lot of blemishes in the lips and on the hardware that need to be addressed in addition to some complete clear coat failure on the back of the wheels.

Got the tires mounted last week in an attempt to make it to Scrapefest which was last weekend. Long-story-short, it didn't happen. More on that in a later post. For now, here's some pictures of my buddy Lance mounting up my Achilles tires on the SSR's with his super fancy new Snap-On mounting machine.

My sealing work between myself and another friend. Three passes of high-temp clear silicone over three days. Smoothed out each pass and torqued to spec after the second pass. Looks like it was factory done!

Now, what's next?

• Torque down hardware
• Seal wheels
• Acquire the allen bolts that secure center plate to wheel (went missing at the plater)
• Find nuts that will secure the Mercedes eblem to the back of the center plate
• Mount tires
• Balance wheels & tires
• Take wheels down to my guy Juan for lip polishing
• Mount wheels & tires
• Alignment
• Install aftermarket headlights
• Tint headlights
• Celebrate!

All of this needs to be done before Saturday since I registered the car for Salzee in a premium spot. It's a really cool show that I wanted to make last year but... of course the car wasn't anywhere close to ready. (fucking wheels) Fingers crossed that I can make it!
