We ordered our dash harness from a junkyard on friday from Oregon. The owner of the yard pulled the wiring harness for us and over the weekend, one of his junkyard dogs sold the harness for the diesel pick up truck to a guy who needed a gas harness. Therefor, he fired the junkyard dog for his incompetents...I kinda feel bad about it, but junkyards hire people like fast food restaurants. A junkyard in Lacey had an '08 Super Duty 6.4L diesel and said they would sell us the dash for $200 if we pulled it ourselves. So we saved $75 plus shipping fees. We got the harness out in about an hour at the junkyard, then we came back to the garage and installed the wiring harness on the skeleton of the 2012 dash, then reinstalled the skin. Afterwards, the dash was installed permanently....or so we thought. So we went to install the steering column and steering wheel, and of course..the skeleton is a few inches more narrow than the '08 steering column. Tomorrow we have to go back to the junk yard to pull the '08 dash board skeleton so my '08 steering column will fit. Damn It.
More on Tuesday.
