    Long Time No See

    The actual problem

    the bottom of the rod was nowhere to be found

      Story Time

      The engine blew the last week of August. By this time its the beginning of September before I find another engine and another couple weeks before I actually buy it. It was a used one that needed a rebuild but I had a rebuild kit (couldn't rebuild my original due to a hole in the walls)
      So I rebuild it and overcome my fear of setting the timing (its actually really easy, on this motor at least) and torque everything to specs. I get a little worried cause it takes some force to rotate it, but I just keep going cause I did it the "right" way. Putting the engine in a forget to lube the shaft (sorry I had to) the input shaft to the transmission and it doesn't touch leaving a 1/2" gap. I try to close it by tightening the bolts but then get to the oil pan and snap, crack the back of the pan. Would be awesome if I didn't just sell my other pan to get some money.

        It's all good take the pan to get welded and $70 and a few days later I'm good to go. Throw the motor back in.
        Remember when I said it was hard to rotate the engine, You guesed it,
        it wont rotate,
        at all, not even with a breaker bar (of course I broke one trying). And surprise surprise it comes back out for the 3rd time. I loosen everything and put it back in and start her up, running only headers it sounds like a race car, I highly recommend it.

        But I see some red flags, I got low oil pressure at idle (turns out it was just a sensor) and a loud knocking with the computer throwing 2 codes for the knock sensor.

          At this point I get discouraged, I think about selling it, how can you sell a car you're still paying for? That doesn't have an engine at that.

          But God answers prayers, fast forward to December just randomly searching craigslist and [IMG]00y0y_dzRuU3OnlRH_1200x900 by motomanb, on Flickr[/IMG]

          The driver is ok, just a few scrathes on his gf.
          The motor still runs, he tells me come get it, so i pack up my stuff and 4 hours later the engine is back at my house. A few days later I'm back on the road, driving my car for my birthday.

          Next time you think about how bad 2016 was, remember this is after I broke up with my girlfriend and working 6 days a week
