    Gotta love dem brake hoes

OT: Good work. That Straight pipe sound is great. Mine sounded exactly like that, but I had a double straight-thru hood pipe by mounting the manifolds 180 degrees upside down

    TIP:
Bad starting is 99 percent of the times a vacuum leak.
And yes, it can have many.
Spray some brake cleaner around the engine and vacuum hoses while it's idling.
If the rpm go up, you know where to look for the leaks.

    Good luck

If I'm correct, the M103 engine always has only one single Visco-fan.
The double cooling fans you are talking about are probably the ones of the aico unit.
So, unless you are already boiling inside the car, you shouldn't be really bothered about it.

I'm sorry for my faulty English.
              I meant vacuum lines.

There's also the rubber boot on the bottom of the K-jetronic unit, which connects the unit to the throttle valve. These sometimes dry out and crack due to age.

Other stuff that might have some effect is the potentiometer on the K-jet. The contact points are prone to wear, and give some trouble.
Be aware that there's a special way of installing and adjusting/calibrating the potentiometer. So look that up and read the instructions carefully.

But honestly, looking at your video, It doesn't realy start much worse than mine

Given that there are a lot of w124 and w201 guys here, do you have any suggestions to a what a rear end clunk could be in our cars? It's usually over bumps over 40km/h and gets louder with increasing speed? I put a load of about 130lbs in the boot and it seemed to make the clunk less pronounced. The shocks are bilstein and vogtland springs. This clunk is just driving me crazy lol

-Subframe bushings? (One of the main causes)
                  -Hardy-/flexdisk?
-Securely retightened the shocks in the rear?
-Worn out diff bushings? (That, if all else fails. These hardy ever fail when untouched).

Is There a way to check them?, I was talking to a merc tech at work and he was suggestion sway bar bushings and links. Only thing weird was like I said with weight in the back there clunks and rattle were less pronounced.

So this weekend I did the upper timing cover seal

Then attempted to lower the rear with 95 ford ranger shocks and see if I can solve the clunking

Well that didn't work because I need shorter springs than the vogtlands to get the shorter shock in there
Then I found what the rear end clunk and rattle was

Yeah rusted and broken sway bar mount, so fuccckkkkkkk I need to get that welded up now
So now I'm here waiting for the next move

Any ideas to Lower the rear to even it out with the front, cut a coil or two? Or use a diff spring and shock combo ?

Hey so I'm looking to chop the rear springs. Take em out and cut them or leave them in and go to town with a angle grinder?

Def get them out first. Unless you want to die ofcourse.
Seriously. The pre-load on these Benz's springs are deadly

If you want to remove them without spring compressor, read the following:

=Rears you can get them out by disconnecting the swaybar links and the inner joint of the LCA's.
                          [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAE2kWaHL7U"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAE2kWaHL7U[/ame]

=Fronts are a bit more difficult. But still doable.
                          Disconnect sway bar
                          Remove the complete strut
Push down the FLCA and carefully try to blip out the spring with a crow/pry bar.
It may seem impossible, because of the pre load, but if you push down the LCA as far down as possible you should end up with just half or less than one inch of pre load. That should not kill you.

Also where's the best place to buy some parts, i know of ecs and rockauto but I'm in Canada and its not really cheap to buy from them with our weak dollar and crazy import duty fees. I need some locally based places to buy springs and spacers to bring the back out a bit more.

Take a day and learn the ghetto way to take out benz springs, after the first time it'll be so easy and you'll never have an issue. Pro Tip: keep a pry bar handy and watch the fuck out. As for the rear I highly recommend my set up. If you're trying to get really low in the rear it's perfect and on the 190 it'll be stiff as tits. Ran a similar set up on my last 190 and not only was it hella low it handled like it was on rails and was so fun. Rock auto is gonna be your friend regardless of being in Canada. Gimme your email and I'll pump you full of links for the rear end suspension parts, and don't worry I'm a baller on a budget as well so it wont run you a fortune. Wish I would have saved my 190 parts for someone like you!
