Car has under 1,500 miles on brand new front pads and rotors, the master cylinder is in perfect working order, I'm not too concerned; if brakes come questionable I'll immediately upgrade the master cyl, and bump up to EX front calipers/rotors/pads, and stainless braided lines. It's a 1900lb Civic, I'm not going to jump the gun right away

I understand that but brakes are definitely not something you want to cheap out on or put to chance on a car

I'm into this booster delete for 15$ at the moment, I like to fabricate stuff with the bros as much as possible, that's what I like to keep this build about - poor fabrication done in my mom's garage spending as little smackers as possible haha

I'm gonna run the stock MC and see what's good. If it's truly unsafe or something I'll look into a Wilwood or an E30 MC retrofit. Not trying to make this car unsafe to STOP...

Larger master will make pedal effort harder... Smaller has less effort.Originally posted by Dremetos View Postdeleted the brake booster. I've never driven a car with manual brakes before and I hope it doesn't suck. Worst case I'm looking at grabbing EX brakes and a larger master, but meh.
Pretty rad things going on here
Keep it up

Well your pedal effort will be increased if you don't run a booster. It just might take more effort to stop not necessarily more force but who needs good brakes when you look so good driving lol

Good question, I often ask myself this same question. As of this moment, the only items on (removed at the moment most likely) this car that are 110% unmodified -Originally posted by smiles View PostFucking mint man. What hasn't been altered on the car? I agree with matching the flares up with the bumper though, would make it look wayyy better.
- Front lower control arms (may be going extended)
- Rear lower control arms (just need bushings for my aftermarket ones)
- Rear toe arms (need to do these asap)
- Rear trailing arms
- Hubs
- Long block
- Glass
- Trans
- Doors
- Rear hatch
- Radiator
Everything else is either gone, modified, sectioned, shaved, replaced, or something.
On a serious note, the car is coming along nicely. Some 10 degree nights have kept us out of the garage but other than that progress is going smoothly. Waiting on parts here and there of course, but I can't complain. This car is officially on its 6th set of front fenders, 4th front bumper, and 4th hood (in my ownership).
Opted to entirely rid the car of HVAC, and deleted the brake booster. I've never driven a car with manual brakes before and I hope it doesn't suck. Worst case I'm looking at grabbing EX brakes and a larger master, but meh.Last edited by Dremetos; 01-05-2016, 12:53 AM.
