  • Daily 510 FTW

So to make a long story short I had this blue 510 for a while that I enjoyed until it became a drain in my pocket and a ornament in my driveway, couldn't afford to keep it around at the time so the wife made me sell it.

Regretting selling it everytime I saw a 510 took a toll on me and when my financial situation got better I called up my buddy who's been building them for yrs to find me another one. He get's back to me and sends me a bunch of pics of this one and we go and check it out and strike a bargain with the seller.

I thought about it for a few days and buckled down and bought it, I had first dibs out of everyone my buddy let know it was for sale and couldn't pass it up. It was sought after and I would of regretted it if I did, I felt I over payed but it came with a bunch of cool stuff I wanted another one so w/e. Payed the old man got it back to my buddies shop and immediately got to work on it.

After working on it for a few weeks after work and what not I finally got the thing running to test drive it a few times then BOOM the motor blew up. Didn't have $$$ at the time to rebuild it and I was jocking space at my buddys shop so I towed it to my parents place where it sat for about a yr. Would wash it up from time to time so I didn't loose motivation and would take pics ocassionally...

Once my financial situation got better once again I got back to work and got the motor rebuilt...

These are still goood right lol

Got new pistions, sent the head and block out, picked up some parts at a Datsun swapmeet and re-assembly continued...

Got it up and running and parked it back in my parents driveway because no plates, old guy I bought it from said the car was non-op in the DMV but when I went to pay it was like 9yrs unpaid so registration was through the roof and I wasn't trying to pay it atm, guy behind the counter was being a dick and didn't wanna work with me on lowering the fees -_- Took my neighbor for a ride one night and he took some video of it using a potato...

Once I got my registration taken care of (went on a good day and didn't get a dickhead) I started to use it as a daily. Enjoyed driving it but was having issues with it running hot then one day she decided to take a piss, stock radiator wasn't holding up anymore

Looked around for a replacement and decided to get a Koyo, was pretty much a direct bolt in application

    Soooo pretty

This was what came out of the old radiator

Did my best to flush it out and played around with how I was going mount my fan while having 24oz of relaxation lol.

Went to a local Datsun/Nissan meet & fun run a buddy of mine put together

After the run I realized I needed to make some changes to better equip my car for the canyon so I got some new tread for the monstrous 17''s I was running

It gets better guys just playing catch up and covering the cars journey so far

Cool daily man. Do you eventually get rid of the 17's?

So on to more recent stuff that has happened this yr, I was in the market for new rims and suspension goodies so I can take my car to the next lvl and get her nice and low. I loved the SSR's I was running but they were just too damn big for my taste. After talking to Domince Le the owner of the black na SR 510 that was featured on here I pre-ordered some suspension goodies from him he was producing through his new company that caters to 510s and other jdm classics.
About a month and a half later I went by his place talked cars for a bit and went home with these babies

Then shortly after those my basic bitch rims came in

Did a test fit on the front, got poke cus I didn't take the spacers off I was running with the old setup but I knew once they were removed it would be a more flush look.

And then the rear which looked pretty spot on where I wanted them to sit, I know I could of done a better job test fitting the rear but it gave me an idea how things were going to be.

So while I waited for what seemed like an eternity for my front suspension to come in I send my "basic" rims over to my buddys shop so he could work his magic. I refused to be another person with plasti dip steelies, got them back and was stoked getting them done up like this was something I haven't seen done on them ever and I achieved my goal making them look unique...

Picked up some rubber for the new shoes while I waited for my front coilovers to come in

So after all that stuff the final piece to the puzzle arrived and it was on from there

Went over to my buddy's shop the next day and got straight to work, slapped on the front goodies and lowered it to my desired height.

Got the rear fitted and dialed everything in and this is how she sits now, didn't have to roll or pull my fenders because they had already had some work done from running the 17's.

I wanted to go lower and could of but was pressed for time and it would of required some rolling and pulling, glad I didn't tho wasn't until I left I realized what I had got myself into....

So much for using a low profile jack when your x-member is 2in off the ground

                    I am INTO THIS.

I keep coming an inch away from buying a 510. Love them to death.

Those Diamond steelies look just perfect on there.

Beautiful stuff man. I'm torn between a 510 and an e30 as my next ride.

How much did the old guy sell it to you for if you don't mind me asking?
