That doesnt mean anything. Lol i had a riding mower that developed a slight crack in the frame and then boom one bump and it was like collapsed. Might not be a car...but think what could happen with something that weighs thousands of pounds doing 60mph or so

    • well when numerous people do it and their cars arnt falling apart after one bump im pretty sure im good to drive around with it. i understand when you notch you need to reinforce but i dont think you guys are understanding how miniscule this cut i made really is.

You are aware that, for instance, just about every low Volkwagen older than a mk2 has a notched frame, right?

I can't tell if your not very smart, trolling or just ignorant by the countless comments you've left in here.

Well I'm not quite sure wtf a VW has to do with anything...but I can see how I have come off as 'ignorant'. But hey, thats my life not yours. Plus u dont even need to graduate from 9th grade to know how to lower a car to the point where it is useless. 'Notching' a frame is also a brilliant way to deppreciate the value of your car for resale, if not get it branded as salvage or rebuilt in the case of reinforcement to the 'notch'.
If u dont like my comments, steer clear of my long name. Because tbh i dont care what you think.

These numerous people probably haven't all crashed their cars either, so there's no telling how compromised the structure has become in extreme situations. Sure it hasn't collapsed during normal driving, but perhaps the frame is becoming more weakened on these cars with each bump. Perhaps the frame won't perform as designed in a crash. That's the problem with removing material and not reinforcing it properly afterwards, you have no real idea of how strong it remains until the day it fails.

The legend of Colin Chapman was that he removed material until something broke under racing stresses, then added that last little bit back in. Essentially this is the same thing, except without the expectation that something could break suddenly.

                        • Jesus fucking Christ, it's like watching a bunch of mouthbreathing middleschoolers tell a high schooler how to succeed.

Your wagon looks great, especially with the tint. A modest drop and some OE STi wheels would make the car pop as a whole. IF you plan on actually enjoying your car for racing or track days, look into what other people are using. Excessively wide wheels don't necessarily mean you're better off, especially if you chose lower offsets.

Keep up what you're doing OP, don't listen to the uninformed idiots who do stupid shit for scene points.

                              1- You're not in highschool (I hope)
2- You have given excellent advice for notching
3- You tell it like it is, instead of nut riding.

Ashton knows what he's doing, I would advise listening to him, OP.
