Space Invader: 1990 Citroen BX build

This is amazing, I presume you're in no rush to get this finished, but do you reckon you'll be attending some shows in it this year? Would love to take some pictures of this!

I should have the wheels on by the end of this month. I just need to buy hardware and finish re polishing the lips.

I'm part way through making an exhaust for it too.

But then it'll stay as it is for a while, until I get the chance to do some serious suspension work to make it lay frame.

As for shows:

I'm planning on getting to fittedUK on the 26th of this month. But it will only be in the car park. If you're there you're welcome to shoot it.

I'm also hoping to enter it into UltimateStance later in the year.

I've got a set of those image rn4's for my polo in 13", just fitting new dishes on them and refurbing them, what size are yours? 14"?

Liking the build by the way good to see something different!

Edit: In fact are the image splits 4x100 or 4x108?

My RN4s are 14s & 4x100

The other set of images are Billet18s and 15"/4x108

If yours were 14s I would offer to trade dishes, I **** staggered wheels on Fwd cars

It turns out I may not even need the BBS dishes, I was pretty skeptical about straightening out the two really bad dishes but I did one last night and it came out okay.

Not perfect by any shot, but good enough that you wouldn't notice until you were only a foot away.

I forgot to grab a pic of the bend before and after, no camera again. But here's just a random section with curb rash.

Apoligies for the lack of updates the last couple of weeks. I've been busy with exams and what not.

Anyway, I opened up the holes on one of the BBS dishes and managed to make it fit. I'm pretty pleased about that since it'll save around £150.

All I've got to do now is polish all the dishes and buy the hardware.

I'm probably going into fords, citroen saxos and minis when I mention the RS 4 spokes, but I will give you that, it is indeed very rare to find split rs 4 spokes! Also, having him as a previous owner of the new wheels kinda makes me think they used to get cleaned with wet wipes on a daily basis by his butler, Winston Renthrewpe, or something posh sounding...



And if you have a spare not so good shell, I personally would be tempted to try cutting the arch covers as for the minty one, I'd probably be more tempted to leave them until they need doing (which we all hope is never but unfortunately rust likes to F us in the A...)

Yeah, I know they're common on fords. But these wheels are for my jetta anyway.

The slot-mag style ones are for this car.

Haha, they are actually pretty clean, hardly any brake dust on them. I could imagine that happening!

Yeah, the other shell isn't actually too bad, there's hardly any rust on it but the paint isn't as good and it doesn't have a motor.

It does have full-texture bumpers though which im tempted to swap on to this.

Itll get crushed once I'm done anyway so I'll definitely try it.

Those wheels are awesome, they look killer on anything old. Give them to me. Or the image ones.

Yeah, you always know you have something good when you find weights on the lip of splits!

Really?! That surprises me, perhaps it's just down to the cars I look at but I hardly ever see 4 spokes and especially not 3 piece ones.

Bit of a story behind the comps too, they were previously owned by the inventor of wet wipes! He had them on a 3.0CSL.

I actually still can't make up my mind whether I love it or **** it. Whilst it's Layed out im "oh yeah, that looks pretty good!" But then as soon as I have to drive it and lift it up im "wtf was I thinking buying this?!".

If it wasn't such a clean she'll I would definitely be tempted to cut the arches out from the back. I may even try it on my other shell.

This thing is bizarre, but you have to love it! Also, just my personal taste, I don't know why, but i prefer the versions like the rally one that has the back wheel completely exposed weirdly... Prove my taste wrong! make it shine!

So I picked up the Compomotives last night. The guy selling them was a retired motor-journalist from the 80s and had all kinds of awesome memorabilia, including a 50s Le Mans porsche!

So no real updates. Im still waiting to buy hardware to build the wheels up. I just came across a set of 70s 4" compomotive CX-400s that I had to have. So Im throwing down some money on them.

Im gonna probably sell my Image RN4s, so If anybody is interested hit me up.

Remember my uncle had a red BX wagon when I was like 6 or something. Man was that ride height lever something magical. He always started the car and let it 'warm' before lifting it and take off, I was like fuck yeah bitches it's 1989, f your stupid static rides

Mine is like that. Especially if it's already been running that day and there's some heat left in the motor. It takes around 5 minutes for the front to lift...

...or if you're unlucky, it won't lift at all.
