It was so nice out this morning I decided I would take my vintage bike to work.

Its been a while since I posted so I figured its time to give an update: The original alternator I had left something to be desired so I decided to replace it with another. For some reason I seem to have alot of extra wires with the old one and later found out I needed the external regulator. I finally was able to get it on after alot of work.
Got the voltage regulator mounted. This should resolve my charging issue:
After alot of hunting I'm finally getting down to the last couple of interior pieces. As you can see I located some rear shock covers, rear side covers, an emergency brake assembly (since mine had been taken apart to make a cheap drift car) a original cassette player, rear light cover, and a few other bits that needed to be replaced. Last time I think I will ever go with a car this bare
everything is in a bad state so I purchased some vinyl paint and wet sand to get back looking new
Defintely wouldn't have been able to locate alot of these things if it wasnt for some great PNW sellers and forums.
Immediately after the first session of sanding.
Got the first coat of black vinly down, already looks alot better.
As I was waiting on things my mind started to drift to sway bars and bushings. I have to replace the 3rd member already and since the car will be lifted I might as well do the suspension as well. The reason why the 3rd member has to be replaced is due to the PO welding it together to make the "utiltarian pozy"
Asked around and found out the place I want to see is Whiteline racing and Black Magic springs. So immediately hopped on the web and start ordering those parts
While waiting for those to arrive took the liberty to taking off the rear bumper and calculating the effect of rust in the rear hatch. Luckily for me its 100% surface except for one spot above the tank. Going to repair it and spray down a undercoat ad put some hushmat in before I put in the carpet.
On a good note, I was able to find one of the better 1st gen celica steering wheels, I like my brown one but since I'm changing the color somewhat of the interior I wanted a black steering wheel. At first I thought about just buying the thicker racing gt steering wheels but decided I wasnted something more OEM. Tell me what you think? Vintage Racing leather wrap? You know the ones with the holes?
Would love for my interior to look as clean as this one. This guy did a fantastic job.
So I got back on to mine with earnest
Will Post pics of the new dash soon, waiting for the glue to stick. but in the mean time I think it is time to start on seats...I am not looking forward to that, still trying to locate a kit. Was thinking about using a 240Z/260Z/280Z seat upholstery kit.
Saw these ZX wheels on a local CL ad and decided I should get them and paint them gold. This way I could tuck them easily and lower the Celica GT(RA29) to my hearts content.
That lasted al of 30min..lol I decided instead to just go buy some wheels. Overall these provide a flush look but I can always upgrade at a later date once I get this baby on the road. I always keep looking back to my motivtional shot and realized ZX wheels wont cut it.

Lighting is terrible but I have the mock up done on my center console and dash, originally It was all brown but I'm going for a two tone look.
Its amazing how a little sanding and patience can turn out
On another note I was amazed that I was able to get the original emblems straight from toyota, Just called up a local dealership and gave them the part number and 24hrs later at the door
While I was at it, and honestly just too excited to wait I got the wheels mounted and balanced, Got a nice stretch on them too but not to drastic maybe on the next set.
So I decided to go
15x8 0ET Offset all around

Because of faulty or just simply unrepairable brake lines and for peace of mind I decided to replace booster and brake master cylinder and the brake lines.
Which later lead to the idea that I should just replace the headersbut more on that later, on to these rusty brakes.

New OBX headers on, still trying to remove that darn brake master cylinder..lol
During the time I was doing this I was also replacing the header and valve cover, Honestly it was my way with dealing with problem bolt stress lol
New header and new brake assembly (booster, master cylinder)
My try at preventing rust with POR-15
I figured while I have the seats at the upholster this would be a good time to paint the assembly.
Once you start painting its kind of hard to stop.

Test fit the wheels, I was wondering if i could bypass having to buy springs.. "No Dice" has to be lower. Still not 100% sure on wheels found another source might go with those
I like how flush this set up is
fender mirrors mocked up. Wanted to go with a different style than the ones normally used.
Time to tackle this rear end swap
before pics of the rear end, gonna blast and paint it.
seat bits need to be sanded and painted will take care of those today after work.
