Whats the current size of wheels that are on it now? Get a rear bumper for it.
Also make sure your springs wont go anywhere. I had a bad experience when i cut my springs..

What's funny is, I almost bought one of these shitboxes. I would actually buy an early Escort wagon if I could find one.

Have fun at sowo, be sure to take your raincoat.

Also, what is that buggy in pic1?

Lower Than Low Budget '91 Escort

Before I start, let me attempt to explain myself before you experience the butthurt brought on by the obscene amount of dumb shit I have done to this car. I Bought this '91 Ford Escort late last month for $400 as I needed something economical for a daily driver instead of my '89 420SEL W126 which is horrible on gas. It's a base model 1.9L, 150something,000 miles, automagic. Buying this car basically contradicted everything I stand for, I grew up around my father having E28s, W124s, and being a tech for Lamborghini; I was raised to **** domestics & most JDM. Nevertheless I couldn't pass up such a good deal and was determined to make this textbook shit box into something that I would have some sort of enjoyment out of and become truly dvpperfamreallowhoodratstatuscambergang.

Barely have any pictures of it untouched.

I then decided that the "ford induction" grille wasn't cutting it and just popped it out, Imo it looks better.

The interior was absolute shite so I proceeded to gut it

Took the bumper off because it was already fubar & the reinforcement is heavy as shit. Also debaged the car so I can pretend it's a Mazda 323.

that obnoxious straight pipe is coming straight back from the resonator and won't be as obvious once I replace the bumper.

Low and Low budget don't mix so I had to do a fucks delete.

Turns out getting low on cut springs isn't as easy as many assume. Cutting 2 coils wasn't even close to where I wanted to be...

After much trial and error as well as coming on and off the forklift which substituted a lift, I managed to get it just barely low enough but no where near the height I want.

Yes, your assumptions are correct, it rides like shit but not nearly as bad as the Internet makes it out to be. I'm tempted to cut more because I have so much clearance but I'm concerned that I won't be able to make the springs to seat properly. If I had the MX-3 BC coilovers I would lay subframe and not think twice but my funds are low, pretty much zero right now. If anyone has any MX-3 or Protege coilovers they are looking to get rid of, please let me know. The same goes for any 4x100 wheels, particularly specs that I will be able to tuck in the rear. I will be taking this turd to sowo & expect a lot of ****, don't tell me I already know.
