Ok, it's been awhile! But I haven't quit building or improving, just haven't taken the time to update this thing. So, since I last posted I've gotten my hands on a set of SSR MKI's which I'm getting ready to drop off to have them resized to somewhere around 15x11.5 or so (haven't decided on offset yet), I threw some new mirrors on, picked up a daily driver/parts hauler, and just got home from picking up a sweet package deal including an E88 head, crane cam, and complete MSD kit. I've been burning a decent amount of oil and got tired of send out smoke signals, I believe the issue is the valve seals, and I was planning on getting a cam and MSD kit anyway, so why not pick it all up at one time and kill a flock of birds with 1 stone?! I'm hoping to have everything on and running by the end on this week. I'd imagine it'll go pretty good when I'm finished.... Still waiting on my 3 piece spoiler and flares, but I'm thinking they will be here this week.
Here's a little video from today. I'm trying to go pretty easy on it until I sync the carbs properly. But this is about 75% throttle and shifting at 3-3.5k. So you guys can imagine what I'm in for when I take it up to 7k haha
Got the carbs on and fired her up! The sound this thing makes is unreal.. The difference is night and day, it spins the tires going into 2nd with about 50-65% throttle short shifting. Not to mention it looks so purty. I'll post a video tomorrow, but here'sa photo for now!
Internet is still down.. but I started a little work in the engine bay today. I'm still waiting on my Unisyn to show up before I will really get it running. So today I took off the SU's and the header. Scrubbed the block and gave the valve cover a quick wipe down, filed down some high points on the header causing an exhaust leak, and I wrapped the header since I won't be running a heat shield for now. Then I had to go to work sadly, but I'm hoping to put it all back together tomorrow after work.
Lol. I saw this car posted in the SF Bay Area Craigslist, I really wanted it :/ but didn't have enough funds at the moment. Glad to see it went to someone who will take care of it
Yes and no! I guess it depends on which of their Z's we're talking about. There are several Z's that I've seen in the states that are running a g nose and maybe 2 running Arita speed type flares. And neither of those cars are true to the actual JDM s30's, they all have some sort of American twist, which is cool. But I want to build something that will make you unsure of which country you're in and something that you will think is photoshopped to have CA plates on it.
