It's getting pretty bad... having to daily it with all the snow and salt is taking it's toll!

I would start kicking @ your rocker and rear QP's just to see how bad the rust really is. If it's awful I'd just try the reverse half cut honestly. Otherwise it would be sectioning panels off which a lot more people would feel more comfortable doing I feel.

Haha, yeah, it is very cliche '90s which is why I'm taking my time pulling them off. I might get a new trunk before paint, and a new hood wouldn't be a bad idea either...

    Roger, got it.

Nah, this kid offered to do some paint and body work for me, but he considers himself an amateur. If anything, I'll just be paying someone else a bunch more money to take care of it...

Perhaps it could be retrofit to work.
It was supposed to be just one diode stuck into a wiring harness, no cutting, just stick it in and go... but I couldn't get it to stay in place while touching metal... I'll figure it out eventually; the diodes are like 23 cents each, but mucking up a wiring harness is priceless... Thanks though!

This is what I'm going off of

You do realize that that rear tub is not my car, but for my car, right? the only bit of real rust on it is maybe the only part on the back half of my car that isn't rotted...

I'm not sure how to attack this. I initially was looking at it for patch panels, but the guy that sold it to me cut the front half off to repair his spec miata and said that the whole back half could be grafted on fairly easily. I was going to have a kid I know take care of paint and body work, but I don't know if it's beyond him now... He is a confident welder, but I don't think he's done something like this before...

For patch panels or does the Miata group do reverse half cuts?????

Quality build thus far, liking it a lot.
