Today I yanked the tank out. It raised a lot of questions. Like why do I have metal beads in the tank? Also really curious how the fuel system pulls fuel out of the tank when the fitting for the main line is at the top of the tank.

The tank is covered with a thick undercoat. Don't know if I want to leave it, or take it off and have the entire tank powder coated. Will replace the filler neck, new clamps, and new sending unit.

    Thanks,

Well the rear end it out. I think it may have a leak. Lol. Doubt I'll put it back in. Looking at other options for a rear end.

    The "new" rear end.

    The old and "new"

Update: The head was cleared as good for no cracks. So I guess that is good. However, the entire valve train is ****. So will start ordering parts next week.

I felt frisky today, so I got a cigar, made some coffee, and went to town.

Also stumbled across a new heater valve. So i picked that up and will rip the entire heater box out... Still trying to figure how this bloody thing comes apart... May need some Scotch
