ive been meaning to ask. sorry in advance if i just didnt see if you addressed this already. but the model is throwing me. says 628cs so i assume ealry model but this looks like the later e28 base and the engine looks like its the fuel injected m30b35 also later model. anyhow just curious.

Finally got some time on the 6er over the last week to carry out some more boring but necessary maintenance!

Poking round her back end I noticed the drop links were perished and the bushes although not too bad had seen better days, thinking the fronts would be a similar case I ordered up new front & rear drop links & anti-roll bar bushes. With the rear ARB bushes no longer available from BM a bit of lateral thinking was called for and by a good bit of realOEM part cross reference and some good luck I deduced e36 rear bushes would be the e24 so ordered up a set with my fingers crossed

Nothing ground breaking about the work everything did fit as it should! So bolted back up and did the same to the front

Onto this Saturday I got a couple spare hours to give the old girl its first wash under my ownership!! I'm no 'detailer' by any means! The sheer thought of spending 3/4/5+ hours washing and waxing, I just cant comprehend! LOL

So a quick wash and some old Meguiars wax I had in the cupboard I don't think she rubbed up too bad! It does need a mop to get rid of some swirls marks in the paint but that can wait a looooong time!

Finally a little progress to report on the old 6!

Been fighting a few niggly problems with the running of the thing recently but that's for another time, this week I got time to start on a couple greasy job I've been wanting to do first up was an oil service, plugs and filters so raided Euro Car Parts for some bits...

Oil
Oil filter
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Spark Plugs
Coolant



I must admit I've not changed the coolant yet because I still don't have a working heater and the fuel filter will happen when I'm in the mood so battle with rusty rounded nuts LOL

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures but I bought 4 inner head lining trims as I only had 3 fitted to my car and they were in rubbish condition! So tracked these down and got them fitted up, when the cars out the garage I'll get some pictures but it meant another job could be struck of the list!



Having got some of the service items out the way I went onto an easier job because crawling on your back in a dusty garage sucks! THe boot area needed some attention, general inspection and tidying etc...

Grubby and stained boot liner & tray

Dirty flat old spare



Whipped the flat spare out, dirty wheel well



Gave the whole area a good wipe over, didn't go too over the top just a respectable standard



Went and got a new spare and gave the wheel a good clean up



Starting to put things back together, hoovering, straightening out and re-gluing any bits necessary






Cleaned up tool tray in need for some tools!!!
