Thanks man! I do have plans to channel it about 3.5" (enough to bring it flush witht he bottom of the frame) but not for a while, gotta finish the current projects first!

Update:

Bought a motor last night - so now I've got most of what I need! Small block Chevy 350, th400 trans, a few driveshafts laying around in hopes that one is long enough and can be modified to work, motor mount kit



Over this Thanksgiving from break I'll hopefully have time to start pulling the motor, trans, etc...

It's been a while fellas!! No place to wrench and currently very motivated on a different hobby. But my buddy has got an old mercedes (pictured below) which we dropped on the ground and has got an LT1 in it, he just pulled it out today and sent me a video of it running. Which really motivated me again, I pulled the truck out of hiding and we pulled my little 4 cylinder out! the transmission will be following shortly then its time to get the sbc 350 in!

That Mercedes is sick, love it when their old mercedes motors are swapped out for something domestic (less finicky, easier to work on / find parts for and usually more powweeerrr.) Any plans on extracting more power outta that 350 before you install it? Heads would help a lot.

@MercTastic - its already got a full cam in it and different heads, should make more than enough power to make this light s10 tons of fun

Pulled the tranny out today, it's now time to put the new motor and tranny in!

Small update, but no pictures

This weekend I am going to try to get the motor and tranny into the truck, just grabbed all new bolts today and using the same trans crossmember that came from the factory. Hopefully in a few days I'll have some pictures to update you guys with and maybe a header-less start up video!

It's good to see you're getting the motor and tranny in. And my thread doesn't get many replies either, but I'll be honest mine is probably one of the most boring threads on S|W But I quite enjoy your thread especially cause I have a thing for 1st gen s10s. I can't wait to see that motor in

Another little update, got the new motor and tranny in the garage (they were in the barn down the road before). Got my frame mounts bolted in, and realized I need a flex plate for motor to trans, so when the parts store opens up tomorrow I will grab one of them. Hopefully install it tomorrow night, then be back on track to getting the motor/trans in before I head back to school on the 20th.
