I agree, you guys are being a bit tough, I mean criticism is good and that's how we all improve ourselves, but seriously, don't expect everything this guy is doing here to be the best thing you've ever seen and be done in 3 months or whatever.
I also don't think the eyelids look the best, but the OP can do what he likes. Keep up the nice work and don't let everyone's opinions get you down. Do what you think looks good.

Best way to learn is to try it yourself.. guy seems like he is in high school so I imagine that unless he is a young entrepreneur or his parents support his hobby, this thing is gonna take quite a bit of time.

Good job man.. glad to see people are attempting things on their own. Goodluck with the build and I too can't wait for progress.

Eyelids look good, and I rarely say that.

Don't like the screws for the bumper... the concept is fine, but at least make it cleaner. It wouldn't be hard to push that bumper in a tad on either side to make it fit a bit better, etc. I'm sure you'll tackle those issues though.

    You should get a nice 18x10 / 18x12 setup.

    Any updates on this?

I'm following it with non judgemental interest. You seem to be tackling a fair size task on your own whilst juggling school and, I assume, a job. To be fair I've seen worse outcomes from 'professional' bodyshops.

The engine bays different, not to say I don't like it, I can see it's a marmite point but with a kit like that on it needs to be different

I love the carbon fibre front splitter intergration, looks like a decent job and sets the front off nicely. If I was you I'd use the picture posted by D_Funk as inspiration and get cracking on this car.

Sure, she needs a little tidying up but I am looking forward to the end result

    1. PLEASE stop painting/polishing/cosmetically modifying things in the e36 engine bay. They are gorgeous engines as they are and if you don't believe me see my sig

    2. I am a body man and I have to say fitment on this is horrible... Not your fault, its just the nature of any kind of aftermarket body panel. This especially pertains to things like body kits witch are copy's of copy's of copy's; if you want this done right save up some money and have it adjusted and molded by a professional body shop.

This isn't the same kit but this is what it should look like, notice how all the gaps between the panels are all one uniform thickness through out and the transition it seamless. It doesn't look like independent pieces that happen to be bolted next to each other

On an up note though the lip looks alright. Even though it seems to be slightly turned up and not sitting totally parallel to the ground but that may be just the picture. Regardless its by far the best thing youve done for this car, apart from selling those Depos and getting ZKWs even if they are ruined w/ eyelids...

    3. WHY DIDN'T YOU BUY WHEELS FIRST??!?!?!?!?!?!?! Your going to look like an idiot if you roll around w/ 2 feet of fender sticking out of your car w/ no wheels to fill it!

    4. Related to they wheel issue. If you don't have a fully built 4.0L V8 under that hood (like the race car that kit was modeled after) pushing 500+whp why on earth would you need 12" wide wheels?

I hope the end result is as good as it has potential to be. I'll keep checking for updates though cause I'm curious to see how you deal with the Quarter Panels...

This is an interesting build. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

And I agree with some of the others... I could do without the eyelids too.

Geez, is this a build thread or a firing squad? why would anyone take pix of a untouched rear end if all the activity is still up front???

Not a fan of bodykits at all but I do like the fact ur adjusting/modyfing it to fit right, instead of just bolting it up and moving on.

Get the attention to detail right and it can't go wrong, at least not too wrong

hey mark this looks really really good, i'm doing bodywork for a living. And i'm impressed with this for a first timer. But as a little advise, sand down the front fenders a little at the edge's. That way your corners will drop in further and they will fit perfect .

I really like the lip. And the eyelids. altho i'd leave them cf to match the lip
