This pic is a few days old and its just a cell phone shot rather than the rest of the fancy photos I've been putting out, but here's an update of how it started looking after friday night with most of the roof done. Since then its been wet sanded and all the jambs and pillars are stripped along with the interior being cleaned out and rusty floors starting to be cut out.

95% of the car comes off in just a couple hours. The rest of the odds and ends takes forever.

So I grabbed some shots last night before the fenders and hood came off. You'll notice I've been stripping even in places that will be covered by weather seals or other various components. I realize that I could have just sanded up to the trim lines and what not and no one would know that there was still paint behind them, it just doesn't feel right. I want a picture, bare chassis, showing that every last panel, crevice, bolt, screw, washer, etc matches the rest of the car.Not one thing is going back on this car without putting some work into it. Now I am aware that a car with raw everything would be like a ticking time bomb so I will mention that certain areas like the engine bay, and hard to reach places will be sealed properly.

I vacuumed out the bare floors and although I knew there were a few holes, I started finding more rot so I just order new floor pans for each side.

Also, I don't know if anyone has ever stripped the interior of this rubber garbage, but it is annoying as all hell to get off. The 40 year old glue is still incredibly tacky too.

              Amazing work!

for the interior rubber coating, use dry ice, cracks the coating and makes it easy to lift off.

Holy mother of God this thread moves so fast, I remember seeing the first post like it was yesterday. This is going to end up being absolutely amazing and it looks like having a garage makes it so much easier. On top of which, the photography is amazing, and the garage makes them look even better, looking forward to more!

                    Hi dineno,

Im also rebuild a W115. it´s easier to get off this glue when you heat it up. I did it with an Heatgun and scrape it off with an scraper.

This is what I ended up doing based off your advice. Heated with the torch and the stuff practically fell off on its own. Thanks for the help!

So I left the shop Monday night and shortly after my buddy sent me pics of the fenders and hood off. No one helps work on it till AFTER I leave lol.

Spent most of last night taking a stripping disc on the grinding wheel to most of the remaining blotches of yellow left on the car. I'm trying to leave random areas of the black primer on there like seen in other pictures, but I'd like all the yellow cleaned up.

Can anyone tell me why they engineered the little air canister hidden inside the driver side fender to look the way it does?? It appears to be for the locks because the same lines from the air locks lead to that area. I just can't comprehend why they had to look so funky.
