  • Started working on the splitter today while still on one leg...ill tell you it is notbeasy lol
Had a friend to help but I was only able to be out for about an hour today so im gonna finish up tomorrow. On a side note this is my first time pulling the bumper, and it was crazy easy.
Still need to get my cable holder tjings for the front, cut it out, and paint it. But i pulled the bumper lined it up on the plexiglass and measured and marked the splitter. Its gonna be 5 1/2 inchs all the way around and will follow the curve of the bumper. Im pretty happy with how its going and looking so far.
Gonna hopefully pick up a rolling shop stool to sit on while i work too whileim at the store.
Ill snap a few more better pics tomorrow as i get more done and its more light out.

hard to see the clear plexi glass below the bumper

            • and then this happened....

Hit a huge pothole, didnt see it at night. So I guess I need a new fender now. But i guess it could be worse. Shouldt happen when I put smaller tires on.

              • Nice car man, wanted to ask how u got the subaru coilovers to fit.

                • Getting the coils to fit was pretty easy. the hardest part was making the front top hats. the bottom knuckle hole needs to be made 1/4 in taller. In the back you can drill new holes for the top hat that comes with the coilovers. In the fromt you need to drill new holes in the top hat for the studs then press them in. Then cut the plate down to fit in the strut tower. I used a jig saw for that and a big vice to press the studs because i didnt have access to a press. I used a dremel to make the knuckle holes bigger. If you look back in the thread there is a link to a sixsphere forum that is much more detailed about the process.

                  • Thanks i will look it up, i can repair and install, but not too confident in fabricating stuff. How did the eibach ground controls ride?

                    • Also, would it be possible to use the stock top hats to avoid all the hassle?

                      Comment

                      • The Eibach rode really well actually. My ride was good even though my struts were shitty and broken. It is possible to use the stock top hats i think there are a few guys who have done that. You wont have the camber adjustment that you get with the raceland tops though.

                          • Thanks man. Thats kinda funny because ive kinda been thinking I wanna do an Escort sometime when Im done with this... These things rock though!

Ill post some pictures later of the new 195/45 on the front. I like how they look so much better the stretch is perfect. As soon as Im working again Ill be swapping out the back tires too but the 205s still got tons of tread. I really needa go lowwr in the front now too so ill do that when I change out the front fender ill prolly dial back the camber in the front a little too idk.
