thanks guys! i love seeing gen guys' faces when they see my car cause they dont expect anything from a tib haha.

Got the car back from bettess specialty metalworks, i had it there to get the downpipe done by jason. He did an amazing job! I supplied a few materials and he supplied the rest. The welds are flawless. He did a 3" downpipe with 2 02 bungs welded in .

and here has been my recent project: a plug and play harness for my AEM FIC since they are not offered anywhere. It has taken me about 15 hours but i am basically done.

Now the engine componenets are all together and i did my first startup today. It runs rough and i have a vacuum leak through my injectors ( what a pain).

Alright well here's a few more details. The car has been running and driving for over a week now. i've put about 500km on it and loving every minute of it. Torque steer is a B****!!! 1st gear no traction, second gear it pulls super hard, 3rd youre gone. I have booked a dyno tune for july 4th. The goal is to break 300whp.

I was having a problem with it only able to hit 7psi. The turbosmart WGA came with 2 springs (11psi and 7psi) to equal 18psi. I tried both springs and it only hit 7. I swapped the stock wastegate in and it hit 11psi no problem so i guess i'll just keep the stock one in for now as the turbosmart may be faulty. I picked up a works engeering MBC to allow the tuner to turn up the boost as he desires.

      WOT AFR's are under 11.5
      Idle AFR's cycle from 14-16
cruise AFR's hover right around 14-15

I am running 94oct pump gas which has 10% ethanol in it.

So far my favourite part about the car is the open dump. Hitting full boost and giving people heart attacks is a great time. Here's some pictures of the final setup. A few finishing touches to do but its pretty much done for now.

Car is coming along great. Still getting used to the new look (the old look is going to be hard to top) and I love the turbo build. Looks like you have a little bit of reverse rake going on. Any plans to level out the front some more?

thanks! Its just different, i like both looks but im one to change things up all the time. I remounted the rear flare a tad higher to even out the rake situation. I cant lower the front anymore cause with such an agressive/meaty setup im rubbing on the fender well. The only way to go lower would be to run smaller tires or tub out the fenders when i do a tuck and shave.

Haven't been here on a while, but heres an update. This is how it is currently sitting as im having fun with it. It will likely be parted this fall due to wanting to start another project. I feel as though the dying (dead) aftermarket support for this car has me pretty frustrated. Time to start on a fresh platform and build it right.

                    • What's getting you frustrated?

The aftermarket is still pretty big overseas, and even where I'm at parts are plenty.

Is it time for a gencoupe?

                      • loving it dude. feel like it needs more in the front though, the front end looks modest. needs something agressive to bring it together with how wide it is.

Shoot, that's all the more reason to continue building it if you ask me. I'm in the same boat like you, expect way worse probably when it comes to aftermarket support for my beloved SRT-6. But rather than let that discourage me, I've viewed it as an opportunity to stand out and be different in the "scene". Too many cookie cutter builds out there nowadays. Every day my IG feed is flooded with pictures of bagged WRX's, Rocket Bunny kitted FR-S's, etc. Not saying that there is anything wrong with those cars....to each their own after all. But the fact that you've taken the path less traveled with an older Tiburon and given it a completely unique look that no doubt will turn more heads than these cookie cutter builds at events/car shows is quite a feat. I'd be sad to see you part ways with this car and end up some something so.....ordinary.

I don't comment much on SW, I'm a bit of a ghost. But this Tib is unique and well-executed to the point that I'll second Osshwa and say keep it. This is pure sax.
