Hey man, I've seen your car around Winnipeg a few times last year... looks crazy good! Have you ever been bothered by the police about your poke or camber in the rear? I've known a few people who have been VIU'd for the stupidest things...

update time! I picked up my wheels yesterday and got JMO to mount the tires today. I borrowed another members clinched 9cm fender flares for a test fit and i will be purchasing them from him cause they fit very nicely.
Im very happy with how meaty the 255's on the 11 turned out to be. A mild amount of stretch but very meaty. Dropped the car off the jack stands and did a quick test fit today.

The fitment needs some fine tuning, but overall the flares fit the setup nicely.

I got the FMIC mounted, it fits perfectly and im able to keep the crash bar unmodified.

This is just too rad. Those tires look so wide on there.

Love the progress you're making here. It looks much better with the bigger flares, the others were a little too small imo

thanks! And agreed, these flares suit the car much better.

I took a break from the tib this weekend to go to Edmonton to pick up a car with/for my older brother. We flew out saturday morning then drove it straight back. It is a 98 mitsubishi GSX with the 4g63 AWD turbo. It is a very fun car and runs like a top, aside from an oddly loud drone coming from the back of the car (not exhaust). Im thinking a dif issue or wheel bearing. It has a few minor mods done to it such as: injen intake, greddy BOV, polished IC piping, strut bar, aftermarket headlights/taillights, aftermarket wheels, and a boost gauge. It also came with mishimoto rad hoses, mishimoto vacuum lines, lowering springs on struts, and stock tail lights. The stock tail lights and lowering springs will be installed ASAP, and the wheels will be painted either black or gunmetal. It needs a few paint touch ups and the windown trim needs to be fixed but overall it is in great condition for a 98, and these cars are uber rare. I've been trying to convince him to get a car forever since he's always been into bikes so finally here it is!

A nice little pea shooter turbo compared to my evo turbo  (at least his car is running)

And today i got back to the tib and have a few updates.

I finally got the oil pan off so drilled the hole and my brother will be welding that this week. I purchased the proper lines and fittings for my catch can so that setup is ready to go, and i routed my intercooler piping and am very happy with it, Just have to get my bro to weld a few beads along the edges and they'll be golden. i also ran my turbo coolant lines from the throttle body coolant feed. I dont have any pictures of this but i cut some pie pieces for my compressor outlet pipe so that i can make a 90 degree off the turbo to my hot side intercooler piping.

need to pick up more hose clamps but you get the idea

A few updates, i am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping for the first startup in 2 weeks from now.

I ripped out the power steering and air conditioning in the last few days. AC didnt work last summer and it didn't bother me enough to fix it, so i ripped it out because racecar. Cleaner looking bay, weight reduction, and a perfect spot for my oil catch can (out of sight) was the result of removing AC. I was also able to push the FMIC back a few inches because of where the condenser was, but thats not really a pro or con. The passenger side of the bay is looking pretty clean now after scrubbing the 15 year old baked on grime off of it for a few hours.

I borrowed the vacuum machine from work so that i could drain the AC system properly before taking it out.

Untitled by David Jackson, on Flickr

Before, there were AC lines as well as the compressor in the way but there are these 2 little bolts coming out of the firewall. Surprisingly enough, the mounting points on the oil catch can line up perfectly with these bolts. I found a wing nut that threads onto those bolts. A great mounting location for my catch can. Out of sight and functional.

Mounted my vacuum manifold to the firewall. The empty port will be for the aem boost sensor.

Mounted the intercooler properly with 2 brackets at the top and one on the bottom. Also had to cut out a bit of the front frame to fit the intercooler piping properly, ill touch it up with some primer and paint later.

Here's the engine bay as of today. Still lots of cleaning up to do but it has come a long way!

Made up some custom brackets to mount the sideskirts, using one of the fender liner mounting points.

haha thanks man! I always had a tib in NFS too
Its been a little bit since i updated this, making good progress!

Got my brother to weld up my compressor outlet pipe. I did all the pie cuts so that it would be a direct 90 to the driver side of the car. There are clearance issues with my from engine mount which i will need to figure out so that i can run my poly mount up there. He also welded up my catch can, oil pan, and ran some beads on my Ic piping to give the couplers something to grab on to. I did the water test on the oil pan before welding it to ensure that the required amount of engine oil does not go past where the hole is drilled and its good.

I installed the 07 STI injectors which was a royal pain in the a$$. the top O-rings swapped right over very easily, but the subaru's bottom o rings were cracked so i went to the dealer to get some new ones. These are a little too big for the hyundai holes so they kept on ballooning on me when i tried to push them in. Then i had the idea of putting the o rings in the freezer before installing them. I put them in the freezer for a few hours, lubed them up good, and they stiffed up enough to slip in without much difficulty. Im crossing my fingers hoping they don't leak but im pretty confident that they will work out. I also installed the bosch 190lph fuel pump and drained my tank to prepare it for husky 94.

Here are some current pictures of it before i got it decked off to a shop to get my custom downpipe built. Today i wrapped my flares and sideskirts and am working on finishing up my plug and play FIC harness. When i get the car back on saturday i should be good to go for the initial startup.
