The 2 rear fenders were replaced and so they had a big flat of an inch around the wheel arches. I kept like 10mm. The panels will be welded back again and sealed before going into the paint job.
Do you have any close up pictures of while you were cutting your fenders? Or at least some finished shots? I'd like to do this to my own 135i but would like as much insight as I can get before I take an axe to my car.

No close up but it mostly looks like stock fender. In your case, I would use a fender roller instead of cutting the fenders. I cut mine because like I said they had a flat of an inch. If you cut them, the inner and outer part of the fender will not be sealed together anymore and you'll accelerate the rust development. If you do, I would personnaly weld them together in place after the cut and apply a sealant and paint the trimmed part to make them last longer.

The car is parked for now till spring comes in. I just drive my e31 during the winter. I don't plan to sell the wheels. I can't wait for the cold to end so I can make these horsepowers talk again
