  • Saint Pete Wagon!

Hey all! Currently I'm doing some must needed frame/bodywork on the wagon and would like to post my progress here. This is my first car I've had for about 2 years now my daily driver and I really enjoy this car. So I decided to return the favor for riding me around and give it the much needed love. It has the original D15b2, auto :^|, with 96,000 miles, and some JDM parts here and there.

This is how it looked before the stripping.

    Some body work.

    Where I'm at today.

    Thanks for looking!

Thanks man. Getting stuff done little by little. Welded the core support and now it's time for some corrosion protection on the welded areas. I have nearly half the bodywork done so paint is coming soon.

        My corner of the shop.

Old vs new headlight. New ones are off a 90 civic hatch and core support is off a 90 civic sedan. Have almost all 4th gen models of civic as my front end. Lol. Ohh and the bumper is off a hatch to.

Thanks man. They are awesome I love the extra space in the trunk. Plans are paint it Honda code B37-M. Get some Ground control coilovers, Koni yellows, old school SSR wheels, and get some EDM/JDM wagon parts. Eventually in the future, Auto to manual 5spd swap.

Finished the other quarter panel where I patched it up.

After that I worked on the hood.

Pushed the wagon into the booth for primer.

                Masked off for primer.

Self etched primed all the bare metal.

                1st coat

                2nd coat.

Sweet time lapse a fellow class mate made.

                Did body work on hatch.

Some rust on the hatch. Taped up the glass and did some sand blasting to the rust and then filled it with Duraglass.

Tackled some rust around the hatch hinges as well.

Same procedure as the above but we used acid after the sandblasting for those hard to reach spots.

Masked and primed the deck lid.

                JDM corner lights purchased.

Eventually I want to convert the wagon to manual so I started gathering parts for the swap.

                These came in to.

Now it's time to save up for a set of Koni Yellows struts.
Clutch pedal was cracked welded the cracks and reinforced the pedal.

                Not pretty but it works.
Decided to trim off the extra metal on the quarter panel and front fenders so it doesn't interfere with the wheels when I lower it.

I am a student so there are flaws here and there with my bodywork that needs some attention but other than that everything seems to look good.

just a thought, but doing all your fenderwork before painting the car may have benefitted you in the long run. progress looks good though.

Thanks for the kind words. @ryanjblajda I'm 100% with you on that. Problem is that this may be the only opportunity that I will have to paint the wagon in a professional booth so it was a now or never deal. Plus I don't have enough cash right now to purchase wheels and tires. But as long as I don't have to pull on the quarters, (most bodywork there) I don't mind to much. Though if needed, I wouldn't mind pulling the front fenders, redo bodywork and paint.

Not to much going on. Fixed some issues with the hood, seam sealing, and painting bits a pieces.

I also got some EDM single bulb headlights. They look so much cleaner.

Bad news is I found some cracking in my primer. It' on 3 of my 4 doors, both fenders, both quarter panels. Hopefully I can solve the issue without sanding most of the cars gain. Which is unlikely I think.
