    Hi All,

Some news, I'm preparing the car for a hill climb at the Col Saint-Jean which is well known since the Monte Carlo often took this road

    the interior heating was leaking

So I had to repair it

First step was to close the hoses to avoid more liquid to leak:

The heater is behind that box

Beware the fixations are very fragile:

Here is the one who leaked

Here we go... (the heater was the original one, 1983 it is written..)

    We then reomved the hoses

Be ready for some more leaks:

Then we have to remove the fan (4 screw to unblot on the top)

    One screw below the dashboard:

There is more room for the legs like this...

I also changed the plastic part belo the windshield

    This one will be changed

Then since the fan unit is outside I'm going to restore/renew it

    Before

    After

    Then we open it

    Quite dirty inside..

    We then changed the insulation:

    then put some grease...

I also changed the seals by new ones

Unfortunately I didn't have the VW ref.

    Ready to go...

... but do not forget to put the new heater in (which was the first aim of the operation)

Then I changed the accelerator, by a sanded thermocoated one:

And last I put a new heater valve since the original one was leaking:

    @ plus!

Great build so far with all the refurbished parts

            Thank you guys!

Next step will be the gearbox linkage, since it is quite difficult to put the 1st gear for the time being (especially when racing )

              Hello,

As I told you before, the gear linkage has to be restored, since some of the gears were quite difficult to find....

              First we prepare the work...

              Not very clean under...

We remove the bolt which hold the shift and the linkage together

Two more bolts to remove on the front,

And we can remove the linkage

              Restored parts are ready....

              Gearshift sanded and zinc plated

Then a brand new protection for the gearshift mecanism

Now the gearbox seems like new!

For the price of the replacement kit, it worth it
