Suppose I should update this a little.

Been fairly busy. Recently got the loom, subframe and exhaust out (today) PARTS of the bay have been taken back and primed but as I'm not going for a fully smoothed look I'm keeping this to a minimum.

I am deleting the battery and washer bottle and keeping it tidy as possible. The bay will be painted a SIMILAR colour to the wrap (as close as possible) as I am not having the bay wrapped. Same will be done for door shuts and boot.

I have taken the seals out of the does and boots and got started on cleaning this up. Grinder out, taken back to bare metal where rusted and primed, where needed!

Bonnet has gone as stupidly I decided to sit on it one evening and leave a nice dent behind so after a new bonnet and all four doors!! Should be fun to find.

Have also test fitted the carpet that Steve (caddy man) kindly donated to me. We had a debate with Facebook about how 3 door and 5 door carpets are different. We were wrong. It fits loverrrrrrrrly.

    (I'm not staying auto)

Test fitted a few other bits too

New washer bottle and coolant tank

    Super happy FINALLY getting somewhere!!!

Engine bay very nearly empty now, brake servo and all gone! All cleaned and now actually white.

I'm just terrified about hitting the wiring, it is not my strong point haha!!

Hoping to get most of the parts off the car this weekend ready to start putting parts back in!!

Really want to have progress with photos worth showing!!

Yeah, I'm lucky I have him on my side, he did all the work to the van himself so he is an asset!

I will post some pics of his project as that goes along, much more slowly than the Jetta haha

Started the strip down today ready for the wrap in a few weeks time.

I have not been looking forward to this after seeing so many cases where arches have been taken off showing horrific amounts of rust or just non existent arches.

However. I was pleasantly suprised! They were in very good nick!

Then off came the wipers, door handles, wing mirrors. I did start to remove the stickers by turned out to be a right bitch to do.

Looks like I'm about to take her to the scrapper!

Not much for progress but it's a start and the most I've ever done bodywork wise!

Had Chris on hand too when I needed him. But got some cool shots of him finishing his chassis table

Good stuff! I'll look forward to the updates on this! The van was epic, my mates have had mk2 vans and more doors...although they were all 1.6 straight diesels haha!! Slow as sin, but turn the pumps up and you can have some fun lol!! Keep up the good work!!
