He's just sold it in the last week I tried to get him not to, but he is currently building a tubed chassis 16vt Mk2 with RWD so money needs to go towards that!

    I loved that thing!!

Thanks, it is slowly getting there, but I'm hoping progress will come a lot quicker

It's all about the derv swaps and like I said, hoping to one day complete it to mTDi spec too!

started a topic Slow Home Brew Mk2 Jetta TDi

Slow Home Brew Mk2 Jetta TDi

So I put in my Hello post in the newbie section, but I'm just gonna get straight into this.

Already have a build thread up on edition, but as progress is slow, if I post a new one it looks like I have done it in much less time!

So I used to have a Jetta 1.3 4 speed in Cherry Red that I unfortunatly wrote off in 2011. From that day, I knew that my next car was going to be a Corrado, which I got. But I still wanted a Jetta again, despite how slow and not-low it was.

One day, my other half text me and told me he had just bought me a mk2 Jetta. needless to say I was over the moon. This is how it turned up (some of you may recognise my other halfs old Mk2 van next to it)

    After a good clean

The plan a year before was to TDi my Corrado, but after I hit a manhole cover, I bent the floorpan and that was a write off #lowproblems

So, we were to TDi the Jetta. My other half and his two best friends have/had mTDis in their mk2 Golfs and his Mk2 Van, so they certainly know what they are doing. One day I do hope it to be mTDi as driving his was just so much fun and unbelievably quick for what it was.

    The engine turned up!

And some bits I picked up from Edition 38 last year, including US spec tub, and a Hella spoiler that I am uber excited for. Other little bits including seatbelt light and engine cover.

The engine got stripped ready to be painted

    Collection of parts

    Interior out

I was going to be keeping it white, however, after a long conversation with Alex Wright @ Vivid Vinyl I decided I wanted to wrap it. You don't see many wrapped mk2s, and come to think about it, I don't think I've seen one!

So these turned up, but the colour is being kept schtum.

    Thats about it for now.

Only a few more parts to be collected for the Jettas engine, and hopefully having its wrap in September, just after Edition unfortunately

And after I have just cracked my windscreen and sump on my daily, means I need to spend money on that and miss a few bits this month
