As I said I cleaned the inside, it was mostly removing old anti rust product and rests of sound isolation, although I like cleaning this was a shitty job because I used thinner for removing it and and the anti rust product was persistent.
Some pictures:
When you see the car would you say that there is not a lot of rust in it, but that becomes another story when its stripped. There's a lot of rust in it!
And here is an overview of all rust, holes, defects that need to be repaired:
Front, engine bay, front arches:
Front window, including beehive:
Jacking points and inside:
Rear, rear arches, trunk:
(this must be planarized)
(I'm going to omit the 520-logo and welding the holes)
Doors:
Panel under the front bumper, front fenders:
(because the car had a towbar they mounted directionlights on the fender because that's the law here in Belgium, I'm gonna remove those ugly things)
As you can see I got a lot of work on the body, this is the first time I'm gonna do this so if you got advice on the works you just can say it.
Started with removing things for a cleaner look.
Sound isolation in the engine bay:
Ugly silicon:
Also removed the tow in the rear:
Then started with the serious work, removed front panel:
Tomorrow visit BMW to order panels.
Hopefully you do not mind that I post a lot of photos!Last edited by Rakkie; 10-19-2014, 03:21 PM.
