I forgot to stop and take actual pictures of removing the old engine but who cares. When it was out it was time to give the bay a good wash.
Even martin helped:

So because of the accident i needed a new front end for my cressida. There was no chassis damage to my car so i just needed panels, lights etc. I picked up this white cressida for a few hundred bucks. It had alot of rust in places but all the panels on the front where replaced and only a few years old, WIN!
With my old engine out of my car, everything was scrapped as i didnt have the space to keep a donor car.
Next up is test fitting new panels and spraying them. Stay tuned.
And to keep everyone happy:

Lucky enough one of my mates was leaving melbourne for a few months so he lent me his commodore for a few months until i got christoff back on the road.
I started fitting the white panels to my car and lined everything up before i thought about spraying paint its direction. Everything fitted up pretty well.
When i was happy with the panels i took everything back off and prepped for paint. Now please keep in mind i have never done any spray work on cars before but with all my money going towards buying parts i needed to learn.
I was happy enough with the finish after some wet sanding and a polish although the colour was slightly off.. In the future i want to strip the whole car down again and get it done properly.
Next thing is lining up the gearbox and mounting the 1JZ! Gave a degrees and wash.
All this work drove me to the drink:

next up i got these mounts from xcessive manufacturing. My cousin in pittsburg sorted the postage out as he works for fedex. They lined up pretty good but 2 of the holes required a slight bit of slotting. A great buy though, takes away all guess work of trying to imagine where the engine is supposed to sit.
Now that i knew exactly how far back to sit the engine, mounting the gearbox would be easy.................NOT. I realised i now needed to change the R154 remote shift to a shorter one so that the shifter lined up with the hole in the tunnel.
I managed to purchase most of the shifter bits from www.amayama.com using references from Toyodiy. Most of the bits i got were for a MkII supra. The link part i needed was no longer available so i came up with this:
Note the filled holes on the case. The new shifter top covers holes were a different pitch so i filled the old ones and redrilled new ones to suit:
Now it lines up like this:
shifter lined up great........Then i realise the R154 gearbox is too fat for the tunnel, some massaging required.

Great fab on that shifter loop..couldn't you just have used the shifter loop and cover and shifter from a w58? The one in my truck looks identical to that. Seeing you do that actually gave me an idea though, i've been wanting to move my shifter back more for ages..never thought about doing this.95 ucf20. static, flatbelly, 18x11 18x12.5 lots of camber.
