Ugh, I **** when people take the original motor out. I mean to each is own, but that was 90% of the cool factor to that car, a 3.8 liter 6 cylinder that ran the piss out of the Corvette. Though there are some pretty gnarly V-8 swaps out there!

the murdered out look is my favourite. hard to find these with the original motors still in them. going to look at one with a 400 sbc in it soon

I agree, I have always loved the flat or glossy black steelies with big ol' tires.Originally posted by loekaaz View Postsomehow I think GN's need to have 'murdered out' look with big fat black nascar wheels
But I admit, that has been done before. And on the other hand these wheels suit the car very well too

But yeah, like you said it has been done and I kind of want to explore the possibilities of the "off the wall" wheels for this car down the line. All the GN owners either do the standard 5 spoke chrome or the Buick GNX wheels. Which looks great, but they all have the same style.

These WCI MD1 wheels I think could look good, that is if i won the lottery haha

It really is a shame... There are not many of us left who own them, and a lot of the people who own them just store them away and rarely drive them, which sucks because I absolutely love to drive mine and get all the attention!!Originally posted by BuiltforSin View PostI've always loved Grand Nationals. It's a shame you don't see them more often. I really like the wheels. They fit the car very well. Engine bay looks very clean as well. Great job so far man.
More than likely the motor will be coming out for a much needed refresh (burning some serious oil) that will give me an excuse to clean up/rearrange things to get it all a bit more sanitary under there. I love those wheels and got a killer deal from my buddy on them. Im tossing around the idea of painting the grey inlays black, but im not sure if it will look as good as i think ha.
Thanks!Originally posted by frink84 View Postgreat build!
Thank you!! I love the T-Types! I would kill for a rosewood colored one! The nice thing about T's is that its not sacralige to customize them. Im going to try and keep the GN somewhat stock looking just out of respect to the legend it is but still put my own flavor on it!Originally posted by DriftGirl View PostLOVE this! I used to have a T-Type...poor mans Grand National but still cool

Alright, So I have been off the grid for a minute clearly. I do have some things to update. So since the last time I was on here, I have gotten out of the military, rented out my house, drove the Buick up to my parents house in Minnesota and moved to Hawaii. SO... with all that being said here is my life now haha. My girlfriend is a traveling Physical Therapist and landed a gig here in Hawaii, and we will be here for three months, obviously the cost didnt make sense to ship the Buick out here with us due to the short term of being here (though dammit that would have been fun!!), so I had to drive it back to my parents house up in Minnesota and will likely be leaving it there for the next couple of years while we travel the country. As much as I would love to take it everywhere we go, we already have 2 cars and 2 dogs we are going to have to schlep all around the way it is, so that was my only real option.
Here she was all loaded up ready for the 1,800 mile journey

My copilot on our way to pick up mom!!

This was my life for 2 and a half days and 1,800 miles...

When we finally made it!

Cant complain about our view in Hawaii from the apartment!

Even here in Hawaii the G-Body stands as a testament to mans accomplishments

If more things happen I will be sure to update everyone on it and hopefully I can get back to my parents house more often to work on it.
Until then, thank you everyone for the kind words and interest in my car, its really cool to find out how much everyone else likes it!!
