Yes I'm currently shaving the engine bay and smoothing everything and then doing a wire tuck. Already got a race battery in the boot and washer bottle in the boot so getting rid of the power steering and having no a/c.

Just placed my order to migfab to have a SRI made up with the throttle body on the opposite side so the intercooler pipework is right ready for the sidewinder manifold I'll be having made.

Little bit more progress got the new battery tray panel in on the opposite side, smoothed it and got it in primer after de-seaming everything.... Just a little more welding needed on a few holes and I should have it done.

And then got the vr6 bolted onto my new engine stand but had to slightly alter the stand to get it to bolt onto the vr6 rear mount

Also bought a solid mk2 front engine mount so I don't need to buy another crossmember

Engine bay is now painted and I have now stripped the vr6 down to its bare block ready for a full rebuild with fresh bearings, arp hardware everywhere, forged rods and pistons and a lick of paint.

Engine looks in great shape and the previous owner had fitted a baffled sump and new timing chains/guides but I'll be re-newing them just for piece of mind.

Then tonight I went and bought some more wheels for it, this time some banded 9j g60 steels

Just need to go back and pick up the centre caps as I forgot to take them! Lol

OOh yes. Great work mate, its going to look so clean. It's not like you'll need the A/C anyway in the UK!
That v6 out of another Golf? Or TT.

                          It came out of a mk2 golf but originally was in a mk3 mate it's a 2.8 12v 👍

Previous owner wanted to keep the engine and I love vr6's and always wanted to turbo one

Well I have now bought everything I need to build the block up and also my turbo came yesterday it's a monster!

                              I have bought a clutchmasters fx750 clutch

Got the block painted up today

And got my hockey pucks ready for the rear engine mount and raising it up

Quick update with some new purchases.

Today I'm going to start building up the subframe and getting ready to install the front chassis parts.

                                Mk2 golf g60 to vr6t project

Today was productive but not chassis wise. I seem to of misplaced the steering rack clamps so I couldn't build up the subframe so I have bought some, which should be here Wednesday.

So I decided to jump in and start building my engine, I flex-honed the cylinders and then fitted the crank and got round to fitting three out of six piston/rods before I called it a day
