So after fitting my be front brakes I realised 15's weren't going to clear at all so swapped the gottis for some 16" schmidts which I have now split down. Fronts were 8's and rears are 8.5's so rebuilding the 8.5's and buying 3.5" lips for the 8's. Got some gold spike bolts and flat caps coming for them too.
And after a good polish up with meguiars all metal polish:
Bit of a milestone for the car yesterday, I finished fitting the subframe, crossmember and suspension and towed it back up the garden to its new "home" a 3mx6m car port. But before I tucked it away I gave it a good wash
Today was productive but not chassis wise. I seem to of misplaced the steering rack clamps so I couldn't build up the subframe so I have bought some, which should be here Wednesday.
So I decided to jump in and start building my engine, I flex-honed the cylinders and then fitted the crank and got round to fitting three out of six piston/rods before I called it a day
Engine bay is now painted and I have now stripped the vr6 down to its bare block ready for a full rebuild with fresh bearings, arp hardware everywhere, forged rods and pistons and a lick of paint.
Engine looks in great shape and the previous owner had fitted a baffled sump and new timing chains/guides but I'll be re-newing them just for piece of mind.
Then tonight I went and bought some more wheels for it, this time some banded 9j g60 steels
Just need to go back and pick up the centre caps as I forgot to take them! Lol
