Well guys I'm back, After selling my E28 project and my E30 AND my beloved truck for money to go to school. Well school is just about over and I know that I don't want to drive my dads F350 after I get home in 3 months...

So anyways last week I was back home and me and my pops were looking on craigslist just screwing around looking at cheap cars that he may try and flip and just cars to kick tires on while I was in town. we came across many cars e30s e36s e24s 240s 300s on and on and out of everyone I texted only one guy responded and he had a 1988 Porsche 944 N/A. The guy wanted 3k so I figured I would go offer him like 2k see if he bites and if he doesn't then whatever I walk and never look back.

I call up my buddys we pile in my old E46 (I gave it to my mom) and I start driving to toward Chicago. I drive 10 minutes and I get a call from the guy with the car and he says that he just will bring it to me... I dont know why anyone would drive 2 hours in rush hour traffic to bring me a car I'm most likely not buying. But I said what ever and let him.

He gets to my house after two long hours and I go and look at the car. Rust free new tires blah blah. So me and my dad go to take it on a test drive annnnd

we go straight through the stop sign.: rofl

The brakes where almost non existent. I bring the car back we talk and I offer him 1500 and after going back and forth on the price he agrees!

Then this is where scum bag me comes into play. I go into the house and only grab 1300... I go outside and tell him ill do 13 or I'm walking. The guy almost cried. He let out a DOOOOOOD COMEONNNNNNNNNN and then he took my money lol

We signed the title and he gave me service records and left.

Once he left I went through the records and I find out some amazing news!

Timing belt service, rebuild trans, engine was pulled painted and remarketed, and 1800 dollar clutch. AWWWWWW YEAH

NOW IF YOU EVEN READ THE STORY. I will stop boring you now

    Picture time!

The interior was trashed. Seats destroyed carpet looking like a rainbow.... it was bad.

So I started hunting and I remembered i had E28 sport seats in the shed! Why not right I'm a BMW guy!

So I took apart the Porsche seats and the BMW seats

    Cut up the Porsche rails....

I whipped together some adapters and BOOM like they where mint to be

Me and my brother where also working on his Mr2 so that slowed my progress of doing too much else to the Porsche for the week I was in town...

    Before

    And test fit

And then I had to go back to Florida

This was my house the day I left... my neighbors **** me.

This will be a slow build until I get home for good but I wanted opinions....

    My plans are as follows

Mk1 golf front coilovers (I hear this works I still need more research)

16x 9 and 16x10 wheels (still don't know what kind but I'm changing lug pattern to 5x114.3)

Rear calipers off an e36 M3 with turbo rotors (I broke the bleeder screw off in both rear calipers and rear calipers I have concluded do not exist)

    Rear seat delete

And that's all I gots right now...

Oh an I MIGHT remove the rubber spoiler and make a custom duck tail... idk yet.

I tell you I **** the porsche forums. I ask one simple question and all anyone does is freak out. Closed minded old people that's all they are!

BUT ANYWAYS i think I found out what I'm doing for front suspension...

Ground control claims a 2.5 inch drop

Does anyone have any experience with this coilover kit?

So I have been looking for rear calipers for a month now. I finally got accepted to a porsche group on Facebook!

So I post asking where can I get caliper and I get "go on eBay idiot" or "look at autozone moron" blah blah so really no one was helpful. Untill broad foot racing posted.

He said he had all 4 calipers loaded with hardware 80 bucks plus shipping

So I'm all hell yeah what shipping gonna cost

And he's like well bro shipping a like 50 mang

So I message him on Facebook to set up shipping and all that jazz and it turns out his shop was literally 5 minutes down the road from my house!

So I leave and go to his shop which was AWESOME he had 15 944 racecars a few 911s and a 996 gt car build by porsche all in a huge airport hanger.

Long story short this guy was awesome I got 4 loaded calipers,hardware,4 new rotors, a tshirt and a can of caliper paint for 80 bucks!

              Damn, that's nice!

Fuck the ******, it's the "I have a porsche" mentality. Some people think they hit it big time when they get a porsche.

True that, if its not stock or a full blown racecar then they act like I'm committing murder by stancing these cars.

All you hear is "Porsche had good suspension and perfect weight distribution and you want to ruin this cars handling"

These (purists) types crack me up. Tell them when their paying your bill they can tell you how to setup your car. Until then STFU! It probably does have more to do with feeling special about Porsche ownership. Like their some kinda elitist. Douches!

So I went home for the last time until schools over in September.

I put the new brakes on the car and that's about it haha I drove it around and god damn I'm in love I washed her up and I took a few pictures so I figured I would post them

My plans also changed up a little I'm decided to get a big ass wing from big country labs and a front splitter

The only "problem" is I can't buy uprights for the wing and I don't want to bolt it to the hatch or stuff. So I priced out some aluminum plate 1/8th. Its gonna cost me 250 plush shipping for 2 plates of 5 foot by 2.5 foot aluminum....

But I think it will be worth it in the end to make some custom uprights... cause I need to go from the bumper to the roof line.

This is my amazing PhotoShop skills showing what the finished product will look like

And then here are some better pictures of my car after I washed it and junk

Well heres a little update. I still have about a month before im back home in Chicago with the car. But im constantly on the look out for parts. So the other day I acquired these bad boys...

My dad called me up and asked if I was still looking for buckets. He then told me about these sparco seats.turns out his buddy was parting out is track car after it was broken into and vandalized. .. so I was able to pick these up with harnesses for 250... 250 for the pair! Im all sorts of happy right now

                            NEED ADVICE ON BUILDING WHEELS

Okay after not understanding "real wheels" for a long time I have finally come around and now I desperately want to take the time and money to build a set of wheels...

Now I know nothing about wheels... so my plan is to find faces I want and then go from there. Is this a bad idea? Or would it be better (and easier) to just find a set of wheels as a whole and go from there? I NEED HELP!

For what it's worth, not all legit wheels are 3-piece.

Read through the stickied threads in the Wheels and Brakes section if you haven't already. Also, this thread on VSC is pretty good: http://www.vipstylecars.com/forums/s...1-(by-B-Gorman)

I recommend doing a lot of research on what kind of lips and barrels are easily available on the aftermarket. Different brands use lips with different bolt patterns and internal diameters, and lips / barrels are scarce for some of the rarer and more interesting faces.

Best case scenario: buy a set of 3-pieces that match your width and offset needs from the get-go, and just refinish them. It'll save you a boatload of money, since barrels, lips, and hardware are $$$. If you can't find that, then start looking at options to re-lip or re-barrel or both.

The actual act of building a set of 3-pieces isn't particularly difficult, but it is time-consuming, and potentially very expensive.
