I have been lurking on the site a good bit lately so I figured I'd update. The car definitely isn't coherent with everyone's tastes here, but it's been a pretty awesome ride up to this point.
Since my last update, I've ditched the 4 to 5 adapters and gone with a spindle sleeve 5 lug setup, with e30 m3 hubs in the rear. I am running e46 m3 brakes on the front with 2-piece PFC direct drive rotors (super light!) and e39 aluminum calipers with e46 rotors on the rear.
I sold some wheels, bought some wheels, and probably will change it up again soon. Right now I'm shuffling a set of BBS RC motorsport's and the staggered M-systems back and forth from e30 to e34, but I'll probably dedicate both of those to the e30 and buy something good for the m5.
The car also runs now,FINALLY, and it's sooo much faster than it was before. There were a lot of small issues to iron out with the ecu and wiring but it runs ok now and dyno'd at 275/235 with ton of room left to improve the tune, I think it'll be a little over 300 to the wheels when it's all said and done.

I bought this one from a guy on bimmerforums. It was an '06 with 70k, guy knew a lot about it and had compression numbers (no leakdown though, which would've been nice) so I bought it. You can never be sure though. I did replace the rod bearings before installing, and its a good thing I did because a couple of them were pretty bad. That's to be expected though with a straight 6 that revs to 8k
