  • I like this progress. Now you know my pain of doing so much work, but not really having much to take pictures of.

In my opinion, I think if you're going for a functional race stance and are set on keeping the EM1, you should return your hatch back to stock as best you can. Sell your 9's [unless you think you can functional stance on those stupid wide wheels] and hatch to recoup money. Repay parents. Use excess money for go fast parts or legit wheels.
Purely IMO, but that's what I would do. Granted, I don't have the emotional attachment to the hatch that you do, so there's that.

Anyway, nice progress. In to see what the fate of both cars ends up being.

    • I do plan on keeping the 15x9's. I love the lip and overall design of them. That yellow hatch in the above pictures is sporting 15x9 0 offset wheels, proving to me I know it can be done and still look just fine. I have full camber adjustment front and rear, so I can actually camber the fronts in to reduce super poke. My plans are pretty much eliminate wheel gap, and all turning scrub.

        True.

You /could/ always drop the B16 in your hatch and sell the EM1 shell to recoup your buying cost, have a fast hatch, then sell the single slammer previously in your hatch to make money. I dunno, I'm thinking out loud. And I have a preference for hatchbacks, so...

        • The nice thing about simply not caring is that you can drive a car that rolls around flat on its face and not let it stop you from going anywhere.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

          Your blast pipes look stupid.

          • If you want to drive the car hard, why not sell the 15x9's for some wheels that fit and allow you to run sticky wide tires?

Because I love the look of the 15x9's and they'll easily fit with aggressive battle stance fitment. Plus you never get back what you put in.

Small update, I did some things...

awww yeah instagram photos suck one

Things to take note of ..

                - for hitting a mini-van in a straight t-bone accident it doesn't look bad for zero radiator support correction

                - for rattle cans the paint isnt that bad??? (door trim piece is NOT painted, that's overspray)

                - door looks a little dull needs to be waxed

                - my foglight housings are mix-matched color wise, and one is upside down..........

                - there arent foglights idc

                - fuzzy dice bitch

                - the trunk is EJ6 (DX) "roma" red, rather than EX / Si "milano" red so it has less clear on it making it look more dull

                • Going to be installing the hatch exhaust tomorrow and begin detailing for selling it. Si could potentially be getting its sticker within 2 weeks...

                  • Turns out I needed an exhaust spacer, basically a fake cat converter to make the exhaust fit, as the midpipe was made to work with an engine (d16y8) that hangs the cat under the car, not right off of the headers. So I also got metal to completely re-fabricate the strut tower caps (fuck ODB, I'm getting a refund. One month with NO UPDATES or shipping #'s. I've called three times and e-mailed once to NO avail.)

Taking the hatch about an hour away to a big local stance meet on Thursday, then it's tear down, part swap, and detail time for the hatch. ((((

                    (first day i got it)

                    (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( the end is near

but so is the beginning : ))))

                      • SOOOO I WAS IN THE WRONG..

I was crapping on ODB Welding Werks for not responding to me for a month - turns out it's a one guy show as far as the business is concerned, and he was 3-deep in moving his business to another location. I was up in arms only to get an apology e-mail which was very sincere. I accepted his offer to refund my purchase, as I really am just selling the hatch and don't need the caps unfortunately. Figured I'd sort that out on here just so no one thinks bad of his business.

I told you he's a good guy. I can confirm he just moved his shop from north Jacksonville to Saint Augustine, and he was in a bit of a bind for time. We also have a big car show being hosted here in Jacksonville on the 10th, and he's been busting ass trying to finish people's cars for that event.

                          • Well, the hatch saw its last and first real meet today unfortunately. I have many a pictures to share, but as of now I'll share my best, and the ones I bothered to edit.

                            (my buddies hatch lol)

Also, I was offered a proposition I believe I'm taking. There was this kid at the meet who kept wowing over my fitment and my wheels, kept trying to ask if I'd trade them away. Naturally I said nah, nah, nah. Turns out he has some Enkei Apache 2's, 15x7 38 offset. I've done the 15x7 38 offset deal before, it's not bad. They're wrapped in 195/50/15's. There's no tire stretch, and I kind of almost like it. They're brand new wheels and brand new tires, not a nick on them. He kept trying to get me to trade, and whereas I really like these wheels, he threw me an offer I couldn't refuse. His wheels and 200$ on top for mine. My rears are almost showing belts and the fronts aren't that good; he knew this and was still persistent, he wanted the stance look I guess. I think I'm going to do it, I LOVE the retro look they provide, and they'll be safe for spirited drives without worry of debeading, as well as cheap mounting prices for tires.

Here's a quick phone quality snap of them, for such weak offset and width, I think they look very good, and could give the Si a retro-based functional stance. I've never seen a 6th gen civic on these wheels, never mind a set in person before.

I dunno, we'll find out tomorrow if I trade him or not; opinions welcomed as always.

                            excuse his fender

                            i have no FUCKING idea

                            LOL
