  • High School, Low Civic

Hey guys. Been a long time lurker of SW, and rather than make an introduction thread, I'll just let my car do the talking. But before I play the show and tell game, I'll give you some small background on myself. As the title suggests, I'm still in high school. (Excuse this) But unlike most kids in high school, I don't like to get high, I like to get low. My daily grind is my exhaust and oil pan, but my daily grind income wise is Burger King, so let that set the tone for the amount of money invested into this build. Now, just because I can't afford the best parts doesn't mean I can't give my best effort, so don't think I'm going to slack on this. I've actually had two Civics. Both of them being EJ6 hatchbacks. One was a 2000, which proved to be a major rot box, and was relieved from my ownership for a better platform to build upon. Here I am left with a 1998 DX, in Roma Red. The car has gone through quite a few stages throughout my short ownership of just about six months now.

There's nothing wrong with getting high on normal things, your generation is getting pretty inventive with burts bees and whatnot though. :P

Appreciate it. And yeah, my generation is pretty interesting.

Car still needs some work. Front fenders are bacon because of some poor rolling techniques and both my doors have matching massive dents in them, so junkyard sourcing will be taking place over a long period of time. Plasti-dip is coming off, and I'm either doing the centers gunmetal gray, or just black. Not sure which yet. Other than that, I'm thinking of getting some 15x8 501's for the rear and running them staggered once the body is straightened out. I'm certainly open to opinions, but I'm not sure my wallet is! Lol.

If your oil pan was under fire from the beginning, I do not understand why you did wait to build a skid plate in the first place? Spilling Oil is quite a bad thing, y'know?

By the time I noticed it was compromised, I had already dented it in two areas quite badly. My logic was, I was going to run it, and see how long it could last. Afterwards, I was going to evaluate it, see where the damage ended up being, decipher why it was damaged there (what road obstacles etc.) then build a conforming skid plate that would be as effective as it could be.

And yeah, no RWD swap unless someone wants to push me around on a jack, bahahah.

Ahh okay, I was going to say lol...

That would be a ton of work and money. Might as well just buy a rwd car with the work and shit that needs to be done to do a rwd swap
