Go figure man . I slid into a curb and got a quote for $1500 in parts and labor. But it's only 250 in parts but my car is at my mom's house, 2 hours away. I probably will get the parts and have it done when it's not below zero. When you don't have a garage, it's nearly impossible to do hours of work on your daily. GL homie.

Hey guys, I took my last post and divided it up a little bit and made some edits for spring 2015.

I'll grab some decent pictures of it, but I have a hard time praising a sheep.
Slid it into a snowbank last week, no real damage just rode up it. Rear bumper tagged a fire hydrant, cracked my lip and ruined the the paint on both in a decently large section. Bumper re-spray, low as possible, no regrets this spring. I'm done, car is parked for the winter. I can't do this, I can't drive a car I CAN'T GET OUT AND TAKE A PICTURE OF BECAUSE I **** THE WAY IT LOOKS (fitment wise of course.)
I miss my red hatch SO MUCH. It was gorgeous (beauty is in the eye of the beholder shut up), I miss getting out with my crappy DSLR, my heart warm as a wood stove in January, taking pictures going "wow, that is actually mine." That right there, is love.
I miss her..
I've been talking to my 7th gen buddies about proper axle notching, some tie rod flipping tricks, and other senseless things to get the ES1/EM2/DC5 chassis dumped.

It's a refined car that must be treated like a fine woman. 88-00 Hondas are just trashy sluts, there is no character there. Nothing wrong with that, everything has its place! But I can't front this car like something it is not.
Thankfully for me, I don't want to ride dumped. Been there, done that with the hatch, UCAs poking through the strut towers, 1.5" of oil pan clearance, no thanks. With this car I'm just looking for low-ish, a decent set of OEM's, and minor aesthetic improvements. No sticker bombing, no plasti-dip, no stupidity.
Speaking of maintenaince, the main reason this build is going so slow is because I drained my bank account on those injectors, plugs, coil packs and fresh fluids. I don't want to cheap out on anything so patience is the virtue here.
I'll grab some decent pictures of it, but I have a hard time praising a sheep.

As for the DC5...unfortunately the suspension geometry is crap if lowered more than 15-20 mm from stock. They run into travel issues very quickly and require very different thought put into the suspension than that of the 88-00 Hondas.
Good luck. Maintenance/Reliability over mods this time.

ahh i got you i was gonna get some drags but they're not really low offset. im not trying to get some wide wheels under my car just yet though. im looking for a set of some gsr blades to go on my da9 but they're hard to find around where i live. i feel you though, i'm getting sick of the same, cheap wheels on every honda. i'm not against it, which is why i was considering some, but i just don't really care for them as much. but might look at enkei's or some kosei k1's just because they aren't too expensive and are probably better then knockoffs build quality.

Just read the whole thread. Go on you for staying positive and always moving forward. I look forward to seeing what you do with the RSX. My buddy has one and it completely changed my outlook on Honda's. Its a great driving car.

Yeah, another Si down... 39,999 left in the United States.................
If you're into Hondas, stay away from Milano red at all costs. If you Honda people haven't noticed, all the MR EM1's have been crashed. Nothing lines up, bumpers are always never OEM.. I'm still a little torn over it.
Car looked great on the Enkei's, can't lie. Oh well, I miss it.
As far as the RSX, I don't want to go dumped but I miss riding pretty low.
Really feeling these '06 Si wheels. They're 17's which fill the wheel wells a lot more, and they don't have balloon tires. With these, I should be able to wind the coils down a bit more (only half way down now..) and get an all around better "stance" out of the chassis.
That, a huge Type-R wing (I miss the ricer Si wing a lot), and a, A-spec front lip is on the agenda I guess.
That wing, for those not familiar.
My take on fake wheels - they're not really worth it. If you ever stare at them (JNC's on my old hatch for example) in person, they just look tacky. They're a little too "shiny" and just feel cheap. I've learned through the Euro scene (bad teacher lol. (don't shoot)) that the right set of OEM wheels combined with a set of quality spacers can do the job just fine. That, and you can always find a half decent set of real wheels that need to be refinished for the price of fake wheels w/ tires. They're just avoidable.Last edited by Dremetos; 12-31-2014, 02:54 AM.

yeah fool. that rsx is cool though. why are you over fakes?out of curiosity. probably will buy reps because my car sits in the driveway and I can't even afford real crazy stuff to have stolen atm and I quit my hella gay job=no money. so gotta figure that out. glad your okay though man. also your moving up it seems from owning unfunctional cars lol. I'm in the same boat. I can't bring myself to drop my da9 on it's nuts(I wish) cause it's my daily and I want it to be functionally low. I love being 17 and poor

Damn sucks about the civic man, but at least you're ok man thats all thats important.
as for the RSX I would go like track setup/ hellafunctional meaty tires on like some rpf1s and a moderate drop.
↓this basically
Or you could just slam the shit out of it its none of my business but yeah will look good either way.
(cant really go wrong with an RSX)

Aye, November 29th, 2014 be the day. At exactly 9:06 PM. I was out for a mind clearing drive in my Si, doing Si things of course. It had been a rough week and I figured things couldn't get much worse (shut up faggot you're like 17). Well, I had just gotten some bomb ass curly fries from the local pizza place and I was on my way home. Up a street I have driven up millions of times in my life before. Less than a mile away from my house. (See where this is going?) As I was traveling up the road, right at the very last second this dude in a newer Impala decided to pull right out in front of me to attempt a left turn. Poor decision man. Locked it up solid, cut to the right as hard as I could, saying calmly aloud "This is happening." as my pride and joy slid directly into his rear quarter panel at a fair bit of speed (pictures speak for themselves.)
Just to clear it up, the other driver was at fault, he was issued a citation and according to the police report violated multiple road laws during his maneuver.
R.I.P.
I'm fine.
Frame rails are pretzels, firewall dented, floor is touching the backsides of the pedals. Sucks. I bit off WAY more than I could chew with this car anyway; it was too much of a project for my budget / income.
--
What ended up happening? Well, I made another probably poor decision. I'll just cut it down into a fact list to save time.
2002 RSX Type-S. 192,000 miles. Cyl 1,2,3,4 & random misfire CEL's. Body in too good of shape (still leery about this). Came on one piece coilovers (?? fronts, Tein rears).
Pretty cheap.
Okay.
Buy it on a whim, runs like shit.
Four new injectors, plugs, and a coil pack later, it runs good. Pretty healthy drivetrain all around. (My mom's '05 Accord is a GREAT parts car to try parts before buying to ensure accuracy when troubleshooting lol.)
Got a no-name rear tie bar for an eBay catback I had planned for the Si (don't ask), threw that on and called it a day. Here's a rolling shot on the way to the recent Asstuning meet in Boston. That was pretty cool.
No plans for this car, might try to get wheels. No fake wheels this time though, I'm over it.
We also dumped my buddies '99 CRV for the lols. It's a 5 speed so whatever. Sorry for toaster pic, it gets dark at 4 now, so fuck daylight.
eBay coilover sleeves on 96-00 EK Civic struts up front, chopped springs in the rear. He's looking for OEM Honda wheels to toss on as of now. I'll probably get him to make a build thread.
Fuck it's been a while. Give me ideas for the RSX.

Time with the Si has been fun thus far. I have enjoyed this vehicle far more than the hatch. The hatch was kind of tacky in my honest opinion. It broke a lot, driving it sucked ass, and it had cheap fake wheels I never truly fell in love with. Sure they were wide (to an extend, the rears I wish were 10's or 11's..) but they had a cheap look and feel to them.
Here is the Si as of now. The Enkei's were heavy as all balls. Weighing in at nearly 18 lbs per wheel these were limiting to the performance of the automobile. I really love the look of oem Si wheels, they're timeless, extremely light (15 lbs per wheel) and actually have okay specs! (15x6.5) The offset is pretty shit (45 from what I can find online), but spacers can fix that. So on the local ricer classifieds I had an inquiry to trade for Si wheels with money on his end for my Enkei's. I looked at the Enkei's good and hard, one of the center caps was cracked and peeling a little, they had a tiny bit of curbing (??idk how i did that??) and the tires in the rear had some inner toe wear. Long story short I traded for Si's with good tread (on BALLOON tires, 185/60/15, pretty much 195/55/15's) and 200$ on his end for the Enkei's. The Apache's in their current condition were worth meh? 500$ So I think I did alright.
The tires really are fucking with the look of the car right now. I raised it up quite a bit to prevent any unneeded rubbing and got it aligned. I'm really happy with the performance. Before I could barely chirp 2nd off the limiter (8.2k) and now I can chirp 2nd at 5k, and chirp 3rd at 8k. Feels like a completely different car; the tires are in very good shape too, so I know it's not just crap tires.
Here's how it sits now. No doodling on the hood, it rained the night before..
(phone pix)
Plans for after winter (can't go too crazy, she'll end up in a telephone pole if I do. That's how fate works):
Front end overhaul
- New front bumper (no more wonky empty fog light housings)
- Sell hood bra / mask to friend
- New radiator support
Paint
- Fresh coat of Milano red or maybe EBP????
- Paint Si wheels white maybe? Unsure on this
Wheels
- Really plan on keeping the Si wheels. On tire size I am going to go with the easy 195/45/15 choice. I'm over tire stretch, it's just not practical for spirited driving and I **** having to jump through hoops to get tires mounted.
That's 195/45/15 on the stock Si wheels. I have zero complaints with that look. Should be able to expect all these things to be coming January or so. For now it's just saving mode and driving mode.Last edited by Dremetos; 09-29-2014, 09:28 PM.
