You don't understand how much I would kill for that opportunity. I can't afford to insure two cars as well as even ATTEMPT to pay back what the Si cost (it was a parental loan with the deal that one was going to be sold to equal what the Si cost).
-
Just finish the Si, give it a mild drop on polished stockers, and drive the crap out of it. It'll be a car you can actually drive aggressively and enjoy the "performance" end of it.
Then go get in your stiff clunky hatch and cruise around and break necks.
It's ok to have two cars with different aspects that you enjoy.

Because by the time the Si is worth what a mint Si is worth, I will be that deep into it and make no money. I wanted this car to either slap new panels on it and sell it for 1k more than I paid as a project, or to fix it up slowly and have an upgraded car. I'm already past the patch and sell point financially, and now I kind of **** it lol.

Why not sell fix up the Si and sell it for the "KBB value tripple the hatch"? This way you will have cash and not have to be sad about seeing the hatch go=) You could always post some craigslist "feeler" ads for the Si to see what you could fetch for it versus the hatch.

Been doing a lot, even though it doesn't appear so.
The EM1 is pretty much mechanically sound, it runs and drives straight aside from an alignment.. I've looked at the hatch basically. It runs and drives, but I refuse to keep hurting it knowing I'm just going to sell it. It's been like almost a month now, my strut tower caps still aren't here. Been doing paint work (I suck, but a 10 foot paint job for a 10 foot car.) I really do feel like I've made an absolutely awful mistake getting this Si. It's a cool car, has a better engine, better interior, a KBB value triple that of the hatch, but it just ISN'T the hatch. It's not my little hatch, my frame banger, my neck breaker. Oh well, live and learn I guess. I don't even know how to sell this car, how do you even do that? Alright man, here are the keys to my legacy, my sweat. Grant it will be nearly stock, it doesn't change the memories it has created. Oh well. I can't bring myself to absolutely slamming the Si either, the stupid Kelly Blue Book value is worth too much. However, do I plan on selling it, not really. I'm just thinking aloud here. Oh well.
Here are some pictures of bullshit and whatever.
The radiator support is a little bent. This fuck t-boned a minivan and walked with that for damage, I don't care.
Hondas get the pussy, take notes BMW owners.
Walmart might card me, but if you pay enough money for special JDM paint they don't!
I paint things too. I've painted more at this point, I just don't take pictures because I'm too in the zone bro.
Rattle cans, 1$ walmart primer and clear. Suck it autobody school.
The hatch twerks a lot better than this car as you can see in the background. Paint is pretty good except for where the PO's psycho girlfriend keyed the fuck out of it.
Should have all the parts swapped over from the hatch by the middle of August, or as soon as this turd has a sticker on it.
ALSO you can see my swag replacement door in the paint reflection in the last picture. It's not red, I like a challenge. Also have a bumper I'm painting as well. It's not new or in good shape, but it's in one piece lol.

Just a little update I guess. I've been putting in work on the EM1 and ignoring many things in life to make that happen; this thread being one of those things, lol.
Car should be driveable by the end of the week, then I'm starting on paint. Then it's prepping the hatch for sale unfortunately

Yes, it will stay Milano red.
Thus far with the EM I have..
Removed dodgy subwoofer wiring (twist and bolt into the + battery terminal, so OEM..)
Removed dodgy foglight wiring (don't care for fogs really.)
Got HIDs to work properly.
Got a new battery for it.
Determined the drivers front sway bay links are shot - in the hodgepodge of parts the kid gave me, sure enough are four brand new sway bar links for the entire car front and rear. I'm not used to sway bars, as my DX's have never had them.
Pulled more of the front clip off, bend the radiator support top plate back into shape and got the hood to properly latch and open.
Hit VTEC at 6am around my neighborhood with no front clip on it.
Determined I need to re-wire my radiator fan (twist and tape before one of the connectors on the radiator side... boh yah...!) Probably going to run a switch into the cabin as I know these things are tricky. Might just use the fog light switch ah?
Found out the car steams a little from the AC pulleys when the AC is on?????
More to come with pictures soon enough.

Hatch is the better body style but I can see why you would want to switch it up. Will be watching what you do with this one! Lol'd pretty hard at "door is turnt". Are you planning on keeping this one red as well?

Bad news to report.... The hatch is going bye bye in the coming month or so
This happened.
Found a 1999 Honda Civic Si (EM1 for those Honda literate) that was in a minor front end collision with no damage other than a broken spot weld on the up-most section of the radiator support near the passengers headlight that came with a BUNCH of mods that I could sell to re-coop money I don't care for, 92,000 miles, and CLEAN TITLE. After crunching numbers, I'm going to let the Hatch go, sell all the modifications that came with this car, and have it on the road with the JNC's, FNF's, and some other goodies I'm keeping for the fine tune of about 500$.
I'm not even going to make another thread, I'm still in High School and it's still going to be a low(ered) Civic. I'm not going as low with this one, I want to drive it like it should be driven! I'm thinking no wheel gap on the JNC's and just enough camber to make the wheels fit.
Things the EM1 needs..
Front bumper - Acquired one from a friend, OK shape, works for now.
Drivers side door - It would pass inspection but it is TURNT.
Headlights - Came with a brand new matching set, regular clear ones.
Front grille - Came with a fake carbon fiber one that will do the job.
Some love - Trim pieces, some small interior crap, some not-to-my-standard fog light and sub wiring cleaned up and removed.
And the banger..... - Paint. (I'm going to have just the front end sprayed and maybe get the rest of the car done around this time next yr.
I've already fallen for this car, and I can't wait to have it on the road for the start of senior year! I've been dying for a project car.
Here she sits with the front clip pulled aside from the front bumper just set on there.
