  • Juke nismo slow frog build

I've been wanting to bag my juke for some time now but dropping 3 grand isn't gonna happen soon. So I thought if I want to achieve my goal I'd have to break it down into smaller steps and pieces and eventually I will get there. So here is my build thread on my journey to get the juke on air.

This is the way she sits now.

First components purchased. Seamless air tank

Sits perfect next to the spare.

With the floor on, it is raised about half an inch. I wanted to go for a completely hidden setup.

Next step is a compressor. I figured I would have on board air for the time being. Just for airing tires and whatnot. I might relocate the tank and compressor under the car though. The next components are gonna cost me more so this will give me some satisfaction on the project

This is the stock muffler. If I go with an aftermarket setup, this entire space is freed up. Perfect for a tank. I can mount it even higher and have it tucked more than the stock exhause would be.

And if I remove my tow hook and custom fab a bracket I think I can squeeze a compressor to fit right next to it.

Currently nobody makes a kit for the juke so looking into my options it seems like I would have to go with a universal setup. Or go bags over coilover setup. Still deciding which one to go with. I've been emailing a lot of companies and people about it and have got a lot of response and help from various sources. Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated on where to go from here. I tried to get some shots of what it looks like under there.

Looks like it would be relatively trivial to fab up some bag mounts to replace the spring in the rear. Looks like a pretty wide diameter spring, so you might be able to fit something like SS-5s back there.

I'll be watching, I've been wondering what one of these would look line done up right.

They come in both. Mine is awd. I guess I need to take some stock measurements to see what fits in the rear spring.

Not to be creepy but where are you located? I'd love to be able to build a kit for one of these.

I live in Denver Colorado. I've talked to a few shops in town but I want a very reputable shop who has lots of experience in air. I'm playing around with the idea of even driving out to California this summer. Dropping the car off at a shop and taking a mini vacation.

About to order a couple of things. Anything else I would need?

Basically I want to have on board air for the time being. I have plugs for all the other openings. I just need to run power to the battery. Not sure what I need to buy for that. Or some sort of relay switch?

You'll need a pressure switch so the compressor knows when to turn on and off. You'll need a 40A relay (minimum) to feed an OB2, and a power wire of sufficient gauge to run it. The power wire will have to be fused with a 40A fuse somewhere near the battery, before the wire goes through any bulkheads. You'll also need a 200 psi safety valve somewhere in the system to vent excess pressure if the compressor fails to shut down at the pressure switch's off point.

EDIT: Just to make it easy, you want this, this, this, and this. Other brands are available. Don't hesitate to bump that power supply cable to something bigger if you think you're going to run any additional electrical in the rear at any point.

Your rear looks a lot like mine on my 2012 Spec V. I was thinking in the back you could use the upper bump stop and cut the top off, make a cup to hold that in and use it for the top mount so you don't have to weld anything on. The bottom will also be a custom bracket that you will want to run a bolt through the bottom of the control arm. I was going to also use the thin bag like the VW's use. It's the only thing that will fit in there. Due to funds I have yet to get started. (
