More photo dumpage...
A few days later I stopped at the body shop again to see some primer sprayed.

Fast foward a couple more days and I checked in on some wet sanding action.

I was so happy to see this side painted without the huge dent. It still needed wet sanding but no dent made super happy. I didnt bring my camera for any of these pics so sorry for the cell shots..

The low lows are coming back real soon I promise

The hard top had to be stripped almost all the way to the fiberglass.

About a week after dropping the car off at the body shop I stopped to check on the progress. I knew my rear quarters were fucked but not this bad.....

I didnt know it but this rear corner was hit and fixed (poorly) at some point so they had to refix that to.

And no more huge dent

Minus the chassis thats exactly what I had to do with the interior parts. Definitely not funOriginally posted by mad-ass View Postwell, given the time, I'm sure you can recover from that easily(just super time consumping)
take everything off, wash it, dry it, wash it again to make sure all the salt is off. and when you think it's good go in with a scrub brush and Dawn dish soap and do it again, lots of pressure washings.
and put back together.
oooh comon, you know it would have been super fun!
but worth it
Thanks!! That was the original plan but the Miata became my main project. I lost interest in the Jeep and it was sitting around not being driven. My ginger was on your side about keeping the jeep though. We had alot of memories in it and it was sad to see it go. Now that the weather is warming up I miss it alot.Originally posted by Suburuuh View PostYou should have kept the Jeep and made this one the missile project.
But hey, you decided otherwise (or was it your ginger?).
Read through it all, and love your automotive story so far, and the car too.
Let's read another chapter soon!

True.. The hardest part about slamming especially the NA is hearing shit from the Miata communityOriginally posted by Omnious View PostThese days its so easy to buy an NA off Craigslist for 1000 bucks, throw cheap coil sleeves and wheels on and call it slammed for a total of like 2 grand.
I'd still kill for a flying j ls9 miata
I would love to start an LS swap next winter. If I can find the funds
Trust me I thought about it and it would have been so much easierOriginally posted by mad-ass View PostSo...what I think you should have done was just fully restore the black NB instead of transferring stuff over. LOL!!!
but two things stopped me. One it was flooded about 2 feet full of salt water and two is it has a flood salvage title. I didnt want to worry about rust in the future so It was ruled out pretty quickly. I didnt want to do anything sketchy like a VIN swap either.

A few parts were gonna need a respray like the front bumper, side skirts, fuel door, and of course the hardtop, front lip and eyelids. I test fit these and Im glad I did since they were a bitch to line up properly and drill holes and all that.

Teaser shot.
Also had the body shop shave the emblem holes on the front bumper. I didnt Take any pics but after this everything was dropped off and the waiting game begun...
