So friday I set out to get the flywheel off and replace the seal to finally get it running. That was the kiss of death. The flywheel had welded itself onto the shaft. I tried heat, like 4-5 pullers, hammers, more heat, soaking, etc. Eventually I attempted to grind it off, but it was... I'm not kidding.... welded to the shaft and I had to cut the shaft to remove it.
After that it was pretty much toss the bike or get a new engine. Found a bike on craigslist... offered $500 and picked it up saturday morning around 10.
On saturday to sunday between school this happened.
(craigslist bike V)
because I was moving at light speed I didn't document the rest, but this was the result. Repainted the engine and polished all the covers. It also now has a full pie cut stainless exhaust
24 hours later.
Started up first try. Going to finish up everything tomorrow and I will try to get a video of it running. If anyone needs rebel parts pm me !
