Been thinking of picking up a 3.8R engine for a project, the reviews mentioned the gearbox being kinda improperly geared. Do you feel the same way?

Ps car looks mint, I mean really should be the poster child for all genesis sales.

This might be a rant caused by other builds, but don't get too destructive with your mirrors. I don't know what you have in mind, but too many people are throwing fender mirrors on cars that don't need them, or swapping out factory mirrors for carbon F1 style mirrors etc.

The mirrors that come with a car, were designed to go along with the rest of the car's shape, size, and aero. Slapping a universal gt-spec mirror on there that really doesn't even belong on a motorcycle, doesn't make a car badass imo. It makes you look like you don't understand proportions, style, and function.

Again, this is not directly pointed at you. I love what you've done so far, and I hope you choose well with your mirrors. Some people just seem to attack their mirrors when they should leave them alone.

damn, appreciate the words. I do agree, gearing can be odd they seem quite long for an N/A car especially on the street. I am happy by just dropping the tire profile and raising the rev limiter though and it accelerates in a way I like now, i think the '13+ compensates similarly with a higher final gear ratio

The bigger complaint is shifter & clutch feel, here is my list :

installed:
Megan trans mount
ralco rz shifter

bought, to be installed:
torque solutions shifter bushings
comp clutch/ lightweight steel flywheel
braided clutch line
Redline Fluids

still to buy
ATQ shifter bushings
ATQ rear mount
ATQ diff kit (not yet released)
Megan motor mounts

I'm hoping to have a reliable solid shift feel once it is all said and done. I'm pretty convinced that all the wear parts on this car are garbage and that is how they get the price so low.... but not a bad trade off for someone into cars and willing to upgrade. hope this helps

You may **** this hahaha... but I saw my tuners car and I had to have em. they are the 5.5" APR mirrors, I think they look pretty proportional, but may not be your thing. The blanks came in on Friday.

I like the stock mirrors as well. I think the smaller ones work on your tuner's car because it's black and it flows. On your car I feel like they'd get overlooked and therefore look out of place

Wow, they utterly destroyed the front end for the facelifted (or is it a new generation?) Genesis' by making it look like a longer Veloster. Your car makes a beautiful racket and definitely sub'd for updates.

fuck man.. where you've gotten this car to makes me miss mine so much..

in about a year I'm selling the WRX, and plan to use the money I've been saving for all metal fender work, 20x11 all around wheels, and then push as much as I can out of the motor, like you plan to. I miss the car so much.. fuck hyundai.. but the genesis will always hold a special spot in my heart. so I decided I'm just going to buy another, and go all out haha.

That's what's kept me away from the Koreans for daily drivers, the warranty. It's one thing to say you get a million years and a million miles - it's another thing entirely to actually honor it.

What reasoning did they give you for denial on the engine repairs?
