So I currently have a newer Subaru and in the past year have gained a distaste for newer cars so the idea started going through my head to build a daily driver that wouldn't be perfect but would be old and awesome. This build will go slowly though because my focus is getting my 2002 where I want it but I'll slowly be chipping away on it.
In the midwest, for some reason people just leave cars... well everywhere. My dad was buying a 69 Impala SS with a parts car and the guy had a neglected Fastback sitting around and decided to throw it in on the deal. I made a deal with my dad to help him out work wise in trade for the Fastback. It hasn't moved since 96 but surprisingly isn't too rusty compared to most I've seen in the Midwest.
Its a long ways from being road ready but with the 2002 almost finished up I'm ready for another project plus its my first air-cooled which means loads of learning because its only my second ever VW and the other was a MK3 and haven't had it for 10 years. I'm pretty stoked for the build and hope you enjoy.

First up.. dent removal
. The fender, roof and hood all had soft dents so with the palm of my hand I knocked those out, there is one on the pillar which will obviously need to come out but my dad and I are fairly confident that it will come out, some out the back glad didn't break, just popped out so I have that safely sitting inside for now.

First up will be an ignition because there was no key but after that I'll start on cleaning it up and getting the mechanics worked out since its been sitting for a decade.
