No need to buy a key dude. Just remove the one screw that holds in the door handle and take the handle into a locksmith with your title. The lock in the passenger handle is stamped with the key number. Only cost me $20 for a new key.
Got crazy bored tonight so I finished up painting the column and also cleaned on the plastic some more. Since it will be a blistering 42 degrees tomorrow in Missouri, I decided to take the day off to tear apart the fastback. Plan is to yank some stuff to work on for the next couple weeks since its going to be getting cold again... so sick of winter.
Had the day off today, decided to wash the Fastback and also pull the door panels and rear seat. Also did a bit of dent removal on the roof so I can get it lined out to get a back glass in, couldn't get it all the way out because it is double layered on that pillar.

So the rear hatch cable was broken so we had to get our way into the hatch to check out the motor, found rust and then some since the back glass was out. Good news is that the motor turned freely, very freely actually which was a surprise. Already planning to ditch the FI and go carb'd.
Then the front situation, more rust lol, but I've seen worse.
Also found more rust around the seat mounts but I'm trying to decide how far this car will go, if I'll fix the rust or just rat it out, only time will tell.
Also, any body know how these seats come out? From looking at it I couldn't find any bolts so I'm kinda at a loss. Need to pull both of them to fix both seats.
If its anything like 70s beetles, theres a pin centered on the bottom front of the track thats actually on the seat. If you take it out, the seat slides all the way back out of the rails.
Repainted the engine cover last night and cleared it tonight
Then I cleaned up the rear panels

Then repainted the ashtray and cleaned it up

Then the depressing news, went to fix the front panels but the vinyl was too dried up and I couldn't get the vinyl to stretch out so now I'll either be buying some used ones or building something... not too sure which one yet though.
